Update one year later: guess who has ANOTHER hole in the wall!!!! We noticed our kitchen cabinets dripping water and determined it was from the AC unit upstairs. Which necessitated another hole in the wall. I’m sure you saw my last review and thought well gosh that seems like a one off… how much of a one off is it if we have another hole in our wall literally one year later? This one is getting fixed a lot quicker which we are thankful for, but it’s CRAZY that exactly one year later we had another thing leak (not by our doing!) that necessitated a hole in the wall.
Update 12/6: Irvine company responded to my review saying the issue had been “handled as best it could” which is misleading as I can assure you, I sure do still have a hole in my wall. Here’s a photo!
A drain pipe broke (a gasket wore down) through no fault of our own over two months ago, leaving us with a gaping hole in the living room wall that we cannot block. Don’t worry though! Despite us alerting them immediately, we still have been paying full price rent despite a significant loss of square footage in our living room.
I’ve loved living here until this happened. The lack of urgency to — you know, allow us to live comfortably in the entirety of the home we pay over its current market rate for (the same units are going for less by nearly $200) — particularly when we have a baby on the way and NEED the space we pay for has been so incredibly disheartening. We are stuck with our furniture disassembled as it cannot be moved in front of the hole in our home until we know when it will be fixed… to which we still have no clear answer. We were helpfully informed it could be months. No offer of paying for a move for us to transfer, no assistance on rent, just, “hey guys, I know it’s not your fault, but why don’t you just deal til an undetermined time with an undetermined solution?”
Our community manager is a great human, but the ineptitude coming from the people who need to FIX A HOLE (and the ineptitude is clear given that we are getting closer to approaching THREE months of this) is really outrageous.

I just have to give another huge shout out to Alex for his incredible work once again! He recently came by and took care of several things in our apartment, including installing a brand new set of blinds in the master bathroom, fixing the stovetop issues, and handling some repairs in the second bathroom, all done quickly, professionally, and with such a positive attitude.
No matter how big or small the task, he consistently goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done right!! And, his reliability and kindness make a real difference. It's a comfort knowing we have someone as capable and committed as Alex around.
