Drive to another corner bakery. Save yourself frustration. I try to cut businesses a lot of slack because things are difficult right now. However, not only was our service yesterday terrible, when I responded to their survey, this specific store responded full of excuses. I usually go to the corner bakery at the marketplace and have never had these issues. I placed a curbside pickup order. In my online order, it asks Plasticware? I checked yes. It also asks, made for? I entered the names for each meal. When I arrive to my curbside order 1) it was missing a drink I had to then request they go get 2) I find out when I get to my picnic that they had not included the requested plasticware, straws, napkins, they hadnât labeled the food with names, they missed one of the kidâs cookies 3) none of the food was labeled with the names. When I answered this in their emailed survey, I received an email from the store that I should have known I needed to ask their employee for plasticware because they posted signs all over their store stating that it had to be requested. Keep in mind 1) I had already requested it in the order and 2) it was a curbside order, I stated it was a curbside order and it being a CURBSIDE ORDER how was I supposed to read the signs INSIDE OF THEIR STORE. Also, hereâs what they offered me for âfreeâ, âI already took your information down so when you order with us in the future you will receive a free cookie/sweet. All you need to do to redeem it is call the store and tell them that your last order was missing a cookie and they will throw one in for free.â So uhmâŚ. youâre going to give me a cookie to replace the cookie I BOUGHT and youâre going to call it free? Itâs not free if I bought it and I never received it. And a free cookie isnât worth the frustration of ordering from this store again. If they had just said, weâre sorry, weâll review training with staff, thatâs fine, but donât come back to me with illogical reasons pinning the...
Read moreI was picking up an order for a coworker when the manager, who stated her name was Esperanza, rudely said she needed to speak with me. I didnt know what she was talking about as I was just picking up an order and the order was already paid for and I had the digital receipt but she kept the food hostage and would not give my order until she first spoke with me. She then walked really close to me and grazed my shoulder and I was very uncomfortable and told her I dont know who she is and did not understand why she needed to talk to me. She got really close to me to the point where I needed to back up for my safety and to social distance due to Covid-19 and she rudely stated that she would be unable to serve me in the future. I was not sure what she was talking about and she then rudely said that although my family, friends, and I have been customers for many years she was going to refuse serving me. As I was trying to comprehend what she was talking about as I was simply picking up my order she then started rambling and said that it is not allowed to pick up an order for a family member or a coworker even when I have the order number and name. This does not make any sense as people pick up orders for family members and co-workers often and did not appreciate how close she got to me and felt very uncomfortable. Also, she then started denying my ethnicity as I felt that she did not think that the order name that I was picking up was a family member as if assuming I was a different ethnicity. I felt traumatized and ended up having to throw the food away and was very offended and I told her I hope that someone was recording because of what she was saying and her actions. I hope others read this review and that this is brought to Corner...

Poor management response! November 2018 We recently purchased a Corner Bakery Cinnamon Raisin Toast the other day and upon opening it, we noticed it was stale. It lacked the normal crunchiness. The package was still full and intact and receipt was on hand. We thought we could just make an exchange of it at a closer Corner Bakery location. Wrong decision, at least it was a wrong decision to go to the Corner Bakery on Harvard Avenue in Irvine. Manager Johnny Hernandez refused to make the exchange although we just purchased it yesterday, it was still full and we had our receipt. He was awfully insistent that we take it back to the Corner Bakery we had originally purchased it at. Bad business practice, right? He would rather loose loyal customers and make us drive to a different location, rather than make a simple exchange for a better toast package. And it's Thanksgiving weekend! He should be more appreciative and thankful for loyal patrons like ourselves. But because of his poor judgement, poor customer service and awful response, we are never going back there again. The other Corner Bakery managers at the Irvine Spectrum, Irvine Marketplace, and the other locations were more than willing to make the exchange and was clearly shocked to hear that Johnny Hernandez, the manager at the Harvard location, refused to make the exchange or acknowledge the fact that the product was stale. Johnny Hernandez was so wrong and not a good manager. He lost some good...
