Where to start! I shipped an iphone more than a week ago to Mexico city and due to urgency and cost of the item, asked for overnight or expedited service. Store owner Jeff did the transaction and charged $229. 54. I am not sure what was the actual charge for shipment and the extra insurance, as I bought for package. I was told that due to the weekend, shipping label will be created on Monday and the store will send the tracking info via email and the package will be most likely reach by Tuesday or Wednesday the same week but there maybe some delays due to customs which I can understand, however it was never informed that I have to pay some hidden ‘Import fees’ also on the top of what I paid. Anyways on Wednesday when I checked the tracking, it was showing estimated date of arrival by end of business on Apr 24 and it said UPS standard so I checked the receipt and it also said UPS standard on it. I called the store and there was no manger available to talk and so I went to the store and they said to come back in the morning at 8:30am when Jeff will be in the store. I went to the store next day and Jeff told, it is still expedited service but for international it shows as standard on the receipt. I called the UPS 800 # atleast 3-4 times that day and they all told me that it was a standard shipment and charged in their system as $101.13 and for any complains I should just call the store. The package journey started with label created on 15 Apr and arrived in Laredo Tx on 19 Apr for Export scan and arrived same day to Colombia Mexico for Import scan. So for 5 days it was in US. What kind of expedited service was it? Also upon tracking, I found that I had to pay an import fees of $145 (which was never told to me at the store) otherwise package will not move further for delivery. I paid the amount online and package did not depart till 22 Apr and finally arrived to the destination on Apr 23 evening. When I called the UPS customer service, they did not want to take any responsibility since this is an issue with a franchise UPS store. Can someone give me an explanation why wrong info and amount charged to us and the urgency we wanted for this package went useless even paying and expecting for expedited service from a local store which is in business for more...
Read moreI got a biometric photo for my passport renewal. I took the photos to the embassy in Washington D.C. and after scanning my images the system rejected it because half of my face was not visible due to the source of light coming from the right to the left as opposed to coming directly to my face. I looked at the image and they were right the lighting was bad and I had a shadow covering half of my face. I had to retake my photos in D.C. which lead to my delay in the renewal process and other unexpected complications. When I brought the rejected images to the store the lady who took the picture not only rejected my request for a refund of $27 but she also denied that the images were wrong. She justified her images by saying that she has taken 100s of biometric photos and so this was ok and that they are not responsible of the system rejecting it. This was the embassy who rejected and it was the system and I saw the images they had bad lighting. I showed the images to the lady and compared it to the ones that I took in DC. She said she does not have the authority to refund me. I asked her to take my number and have the manager call me which never happened. Basically, they made a mistake, denied their mistake even when I pointed out the issue which was very clear and evident on the taken photo, they denied my request for a refund and basically dissed me in front of other costumers in the store. I have never been treated so badly as a customer and I will never go back to that store again. It was absolutely unprofessional and...
Read moreIf I could give a ZERO star review I would. VERY disappointed in The UPS Store 2792 in Indiana PA. We had 4 packages to send overseas to deployed units and they charged us over THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($312.48). My student went back in within 10 minutes after getting off the phone with me. The packages were pulled (so they didn't go out- they are still sitting right there in the store). I told them that we are not paying $76+ per package when the same packages can be mailed for less then $20 per package with USPS. The store said that we could take our packages back, but they would NOT refund us our $313!!! This is absolutely unacceptable. This store is owned by Kristen Stiles and Jeff Szenyo. Their daughter Destanie lied to my students, telling them that these were the same prices as USPS and that "no one else could do it for cheaper". Not true, as USPS offers flat rate shipping for these same size boxes for less than $25 each! After speaking to Corporate, I was informed this is an individually owned franchise store, so they stated that the store COULD give us a refund if they wanted to... but obviously that isn't the case, as they lied to me on the phone as well as to my students by saying that they "couldn't because the money already went to corporate." Hmmmm. If they are unwilling to do the RIGHT thing, UPS (or at least this store at 1544 Oakland Ave Indiana, PA 15701) certainly will never get another dime of my money, my family's money, or my organization's money so long as I...
