Yellow Wood — Local services in Whitefish Bay

Wow, I live around the corner from this store and never visited, thinking that it must be overpriced and never went in. This winter, I was looking for a rare item and this was the only store that looked like carried it. I was a bit apprehensive about going in, but what was I thinking!

The store has totally changed my views on locally owned shops. Prices are actually not higher than the mall (Nordstrom, Macy's, etc.), the staff are actually kind and helpful, and there is a cute dog hanging out and wagging its tail!

I had a great experience getting a rare item in my size at a lower price than expected, with smiles and kindness through the end of the transaction. Totally worth it, and definitely where I'll be heading...

I went into Yellow Wood store to buy a watch. The girl at the register asked me if I had a mask. I said no. She said she has one if I wanted one. I said no I don’t want one. She then told me they require everyone to wear one. I asked if there is a mask mandate I am unaware of. She then told me they are requiring all customers to wear a mask even if you have been vaccinated to “protect everyone in the store.” I said I am not wearing one so I will leave take my business elsewhere if you would like or I can buy the watch I came in here for. Her response, “we require a mask.” I took my business somewhere else and...

My daughter is planning a large adventure (basecamp) and, she hasn't bought anything. So we went to this store YELLOW WOOD and got everything. Amazing selection, I have no idea how such a small store had everything and excellent quality. The buyer for the store genius.. And there was like 5 people helping us shop, answering questions. I am shocked my stress level. Down... I feel my daughter is completely set, aside from snacks... And we took two duffel sizes to try out. That saved us a trip in returning....
