I write this review with previously only positive and good things to say about my experience at Murphyâs Jewelers. Particularly Diane is amazing, she is compassionate and kind and she deserves all the praise and this review does not apply to her. My fiancĂ© purchased a beautiful engagement ring and we both returned for our wedding bands. What prompts my review was that after battling 8 months of a new chronic illness, i needed beads placed in my engagement and wedding band. I did not feel comfortable resizing my band again, as it is a particularly woven cut that cannot be easily resized and done multiple times, particularly with my rapid fluctuations in weight that could change. They brought out the artist or designer in the back who would handle the work. This man spoke to me with such condescension, aggression, and coldness that I was so caught off guard , attempted to fight tears, and had to excuse myself to cry in the bathroom. I felt as a loyal customer, this was a simple request and something i already spoke to their team members in store in person and on phone prior to dropping it off, and the aggression in his tone was so unsettling and unnecessary, to a loyal customer nonetheless. I felt extremely uncomfortable, so did the staff member trying to check me out. When i came back from the bathroom, all the rest of the staff in the building was very apologetic for his behavior and explained this was apparently just how he treats his peers and customers. additionally, the wedding band box I purchased my ring in was not returned with my completed rings, a minor issue, but the original hearts on fire box was beautiful, smaller, a totally different color and I asked when I dropped the ring off if I should keep the box and was told no, so while minor, just an additional error that has made for a less than perfect experience. I once again feel bad to leave a negative review particularly because my prior experiences with Diane and others were wonderful. The artist in the back deserves to know his actions and way he spoke to a customer was inappropriate and a direct reflection of the company he is working for. regardless if he thought my choice was dumb (which it really was never clearly explained his exact issue with my request) there is a tact in how you speak to customers and while I doubt Murphyâs will fire or penalize this man who is understandably good at his job, I would hope some action or repercussion is taken that he doesnât make a woman or man a week before their wedding burst into tears in their store after they spent a large amount of money in their store. It was mortifying...
Read moreMurphy Jewelers has been our #1 choice for fine jewelry for years now! Everytime we visit, the customer service is exceptional and they make us feel so welcome! On my most recent visit, I worked with Ellen to arrange a complimentary cleaning/plating of my Murphys purchased engagement ring and wedding bands. Ellen was professional, courteous and seemed genuinely happy to be assisting me. As we were chatting I mentioned how nice it would be to have a special piece of jewelry to commemorate my Mother's day. She very kindly listened to my ideas about jewelery type and guided me to some gorgeous pieces with my son's birthstone. I did not have a lot of time to browse that afternoon, but expressed interest in returning the next day. Ellen promptly introduced me to her colleague, Amelia, explained my situation and showed her the pieces I was most interested in. Ellen explained she would not be working the following day, but would make sure Amelia was available at the time I planned to return. I greatly appreciated Ellen's excitement for my shopping journey and her willingness to help facilitate the purchase on my terms/schedule instead of pressuring me into a purchase that day. When I returned the following day, Amelia was waiting for me as promised and greeted me as if we were old friends. She very patiently and pleasantly spent a lot of time helping me try different necklaces and styling variations until I found the perfect one! She was very observant of my facial expressions/body language and was able to help me recognize which necklace I seemed to gravitate more towards when I felt torn between two. She was also very mindful and respectful of our budget. Fine jewelry purchases are a timeless investment in creating stories and heirlooms for future generations- Ellen and Amelia were both instrumental in making my Mother's Day extra special this year and I can't thank them enough! Murphy Jewelers is one of the best in the business and I can't recommend them enough for your next trip to the jewelry store! Whether you're in the market for a new piece or simply have questions and want to browse, they love their customers and will make you feel very glad you walked...
Read moreI'm not even sure how to begin to describe how much Murphy Jewelers has gone above and beyond for us. Between Ellen, Mary, Rick and others, I am beyond grateful. My engagement ring had been set so there was a large gap between the diamond and the halo. I had been really upset over this, since my ring represents so much, yet the gap still bothered me. The center diamond belonged to my grandmother, adding to the sentimental value. The jewelers at Murphy completely understood how important the ring was to me, yet made feel validated about the issue I saw with it. They worked closely with Gabriel and Co to help find a solution for my setting, (I owe a large thanks to their rep with Gabriel as well. They are an amazing company.)
My new setting is absolutely perfect; it feels just as special and similar as my original one, but improved all the issues. Rick was able to set it exactly the way I had originally imagined it, and went above and beyond to ensure it was perfect.
We also worked closely with Ellen to create a necklace out of a few of my grandmother's diamonds. It turned out so beautiful, better than I could have imagined. She was so patient with us to try and find the perfect setting, which included several visits. We never once felt pressured into making a decision. I'm so happy we chose the setting we did. It it such a special piece. We also have looked at lots of wedding bands with her, although we're still undecided on that! We will be sure to return to her though if we do decide on it.
I truly don't think I could thank Murphy Jewelers enough. This new and improved ring really reflects the most important part, the love my fiancé and I share. The setting also does justice to how beautiful my grandmother's diamond is, which was the goal too. They are the only jewelers who we trust in the Lehigh Valley. The most important thing to them is that they genuinely want to see their customers are happy. Thank you to Ellen, Mary, Rick, Gabriel rep, and the whole Murphy team from the bottom of my heart! As dramatic as it sounds, they have truly made a positive...
