Very dirty store. These guys have peoples computers scattered everywhere, and under other things, without labels of what belongs to who. I went in the store and a lady in front of me was requesting when her iPad would be finished. The guy was digging around piles of technical garbage and pulls her iPad out from a mountain of junk and presents it to her incomplete. That’s absolutely egregious. The place was an absolute dump. I used to run an IT company in the Central Valley for about 10 years and it was NEVER a mess. It was clean and professional, and honestly it has to be especially if you’re dealing with sensitive electronics! Do you need a very specialized electrostatic controlled environment. These guys had NONE of that.
Anyway, onto me. I called in yesterday and requested a E specific battery for an Apple Computer. The person who I called said they had it in stock and it would be about $80 for the battery kit. I said “great I’ll pick it up tomorrow!” Tomorrow arrived, and I headed to the store to go pick up the battery. I talk to the guy behind the counter and he bluntly told me, “sorry I won’t sell this to you. I changed my mind. It’s for customers only.”
I thought to myself, “hold up. I’m a customer! I just need the kit!”
And it was then I realized that he didn’t want to sell it to me because he would rather want to make more profit by selling it to a customer who brings their own computer in. In other words, labor charges.
I was promised a battery kit, I drove to the location, was met with a completely unprofessional environment and customer service and ended up not getting anything at all.
It’s times like this I wish I still had my I.T. Company, I’d give sketchy repair shops like this a run for their money. Very unprofessional.
UPDATE (04-22-2024): In response to the business's reply -- Yes, that is the location and can confirm it is the location. What it comes down to is two things:
Keep your business clean and treat your customers assets with the respect that they deserve. A dirty, poorly operated business is a bad business. Also it wouldn't hurt to invest in ESD control equipment. I didn't see any there and your employees were digging away in laptops without any sort of clean ESD control. Maybe you do, but I didn't see it then. At the time there were more egregious issues.
Honor what you say over the phone to your customers and don't change last minute in order to make a better sale. That's just sleazy. If you don't have a kit, don't say you do. If you don't want to sell the kit, be upfront and mention that over the phone. I took time out of my day to travel to your location to make a business deal.
And lastly, I see your clearly passive aggressive remark at the end, the remark shows the professionalism at this location and its owner. I did not mention that my business failed in any way in my post above. If you want context, here it is: the business was (and is) successful and was sold and is still in operation today going on 20 years strong now. Please don't make assumptions and passive aggressive remarks. As a business you're going to get criticism and that should be applied to making your business better. Reach out to the customers who have a negative reply and maybe work with them to resolve the issues. Instead, what you did was deflect my review, ignored what I had to say and then topped it off with a passive aggressive remark. That is not constructive in any way to your customer base or your...
Read moreDo not use this business if you’re under privileged! I’m a mental health patient with service animal and am experiencing homelessness. My laptop that has been with me for two year broke down and I took it to them. Initially, I was given a quote of $90 to have it checked out that the assessment would take an hour and that if it was simple, it would be four hours. This business closes at 5 PM. I had to wait till 445 to call him just before they were closing for them to tell me that they couldn’t get to it that the guy was on lunch, but he was coming in on a Saturday and he would call me. Saturday I called and he told me that they were not able to boot my computer up with the existing hard drive and so they replaced it with a hard drive that came in that day, which is why they didn’t call me the day before and that one didn’t boot up either but they would know for sure by Monday, thereby extending the endeavor for four days . During this time, no one ever called me but once I have the phone logs to prove it, I had to continually call to check up on the only thing of value I have left The thing with this laptop, it’s special to me because it’s my gaming laptop and it’s how i stayed out of trouble. I explained this to the manager who took my laptop he assured me that I shouldn’t be worried and sorry for the runaround but They would get down to the bottom of it on Monday. Monday came and went I had to call at the end of the day for them to tell me that they were never able to start my laptop and that it was probably something wrong with the motherboard and that was gonna cost over $300 and it wasn’t worth it, but they had other laptops that were cheaper there.,immediately after that my blizzard account was hacked then my Netflix account password was changed then my steam account password was accessed then my email accounts were accessed if I wouldn’t have this iPhone 14 Pro, I wouldn’t be getting the authentication and two-step notifications and I wouldn’t have known anything! I’ve been gaming with my laptop broken? and my online friends were texting me in Discord that they see my characters online? How Do you have access to my blizzard account emails? They Tried to take advantage of someone they thought doesn’t have any back up or that nobody cares about them because I shared with them that I’m a mental health patient and that I’m homeless! That that is cowardice Is what I wish to put out there! with all your business owners complaining about people taking advantage of you. You’re never shy to make a quick buck on those that have less. Also be advised when I told the manager about the blizzard Authenticator on my iPhone 14 Pro he said I couldn’t come to pick up my “ inoperable “ laptop without Whittier PD . Wonder if they thought because I was homeless it was stolen or maybe I was a dope fiend and have a warrant or something that they had the time and liberty to sell...
Read moreI gave this place a shot because it was right near me, but unfortunately it has supar products and is poorly managed.
I had a iPhone X screen replaced there with their premium selection, in other words their best quality product. About a month or so later the screen didn't turn on, but the phone itself worked because I could still receive calls with my apple watch. When I took it back they said they it would be about 2 hours to figure out whats wrong. 3 hours later I called asking about the phone, they didn't answer after I called back about 8 times. Finally an hour later they called to tell me that they could fix it if I bought a new screen and no they wouldn't replace the faulty one for free because it had a scratch on it.
The shop itself is bad too, no organization and it looks like a junkyard for electronics. They sell refurbished iphones and laptops but because of my experience I wouldn't trust anything in that place.
There are about 4 other iPhone replacement places near the same location, maybe a bit more expensive but after this I don't mind paying someone else a little more if they can stand...
