Ronin BBQ Teriyaki — Restaurant in Whittier

Food was excellent atmosphere was great but unfortunately had a very bad experience with the staff. My friend and I decided to stop by and try out the restaurant we went in ordered set down to eat outside patio area and 10 minutes after we had began eating the server comes and tells us that we have to leave that it's closed start it putting away the chairs and the umbrella on the table next to the patio area. So we went inside to finish eating as I assume that he was closing up the patio area there was another customer when his two small children eating and another couple then they turned off the lights inside on all of us as we were still eating it was dark except for a small light in a kitchen area told us we had to leave there was no warning not even when we ordered where we made aware that they were closing soon I could not believe that we were being treated that way so I got up and asked to speak to the manager but there was no manager and asked can I have the number to the corporate office the employee said there was no corporate office and I asked for the number for the owner I expressed how could he treat customers this way and he said well I told you we were closing I said no you should have told us in the beginning when we were ordering to warn us that you guys were closing in 10 minutes told him it is not okay to treat...

I wanted to try some place a little different with the wife for my birthday. We both got the teriyaki chicken burrito and I added on one of the beef sandwiches. I had a good feeling about it all but we were in even more shock of how GREAT it all was. For the sandwhich the meat was juicy and that right amount of cooked where the flavor was sealed in with a crispy outside. Seasoned really well and wonderful on its own without the sauce they give you, but it got even better after that. The fries were great as well. Had some weight to them but were crispy and light as well. I didn't feel like the fries were just to fill the combo, but instead played a role in the meal itself. And the burrito... wowza. Really innovative and filling. I'm a bigger dude and I could only get down half, but I also wanted to savor the experience for the next day. The wife loved it too and this will definitely be a go to...

So tried this spot for lunch, to go order. I got thier double cheese burger, chicken and beef plate and gyoza. The burger wasn't great. It's char broiled but I believe they overcooked or didn't clean the grill well because you can taste the char marks on the burger which give a funky burnt, charcoal or something other than meat flavor. It sucks cuz the burger looked good, but the meat patty didn't have any flavor, I mean a little salt and pepper could change that. Instead u get charcoal flavor. The chicken and beef plate comes packed with meats, rice and a side salad. It's a lot of food. The gyoza is deep fried with a teriyaki sauce. It was ok, kinda crispy on the edge. It's a lot of food, just disappointing with the burger. Not sure if there's anything else I'd like to try. Not really into Japanese fusion burritos, which is basically a meat...
