This is a horrible supermarket. I wish I couldâve given it 0 stars. I didnât want to be picky or cause issues, but this is something I cannot ignore.
Recently bought a âfreshâ durian fruit, and it turned out to be actually a frozen fruit once I started cutting into it. They purposefully mislead the item to be fresh rather then frozen, like it actually is. Worst part about it is that not only was it inedible, but they wouldnât issue a refund for me. It cost me over 100 dollars for it (normal price for a FRESH durian). Horrible customer service, and did not bother to work with me.
A lot of food is expired and reeks, and itâll be mixed in with the newer items. This is horrible for health and is misleading for their customers. This has happened many times to me and my family members who shop here. Weâve let it slip past due to not wanting to write a bad review or cause trouble.
Not only has a lot of fruit and food turned out to be rotten, but also many times the cashier would scan an item TWICE and not check. DO NOT USE A CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD at this store. They scan a certain price for your trip and charge your card with a different amount. It is absurd and overly scammy.
The store itself is barely kept clean, the floors are dirty and the shelves are covered in dust. The restrooms are the most unhygienic place Iâve ever been in, and a lot of food is left out uncovered. The bread and pastries by the front door have NO cover and is often sold 2-3 days after the original baked date. The store has no regard for cleanliness and food quality.
In the little shops on the right side of the store, they sell absurd items and paintings, one which was a nude painting of what seems to be a young girl. Donât know why itâs there but not sure what trouble could happen if more people knew about it.
This could be such a great Asian supermarket, but their inconsistencies and inability to be truthful to customers is overwhelming. Donât shop here. There are better Asian markets in Wichita and this is NOT the place to come use...
Read moreI have loved going here for years; so many hard to find items, and all in one place. Fresh loaf bread/ baguettes (great or bahn mi or tortas) is always appreciated, and the produce is wonderful. For those that are looking for a great seafood selection, this is a winner. I would recommend stopping by and seeing what this grocery store has to offer you the next time you are looking for a culinary adventure!
Wondering the aisles is a great way to encounter a variety of products that I have never found anywhere else. Some things donât make sense unless you know what they are used for. Without friends, I surely would have never figured how to transform a small packet of basil seeds into basil seed tea. Times have changed, and having a smart phone in your pocket certainly changes the equation, so fear not; wander the store and google away. You will not be disappointed.
After exploring a number of times, there are a lot of items that are now instantly recognizable, and have become familiar favorites for me. It is a worthwhile trip to pick up fresh sprouts, lady finger bananas, mung bean cakes, and even frozen bbq dumplings that remind me of good times from my childhood. The entire aisle of ramen from all over the world is definitely worth the trip alone.
After taking friends and family here for years, it is fair to say that you will not find a polished corporate store like you may expect in a Dillonâs or Walmart grocery. What you will find though, is a Wichita treasure full of hard to find, quality ingredients. If you are in the neighborhood I highly recommend swinging...
Read moreThai Binh Supermarket shoppers, beware when you buy too much items, the cashier will try to over price some of your items. For example, if the item cause $1.00, it will be ring up to $2.00. Some people say just one item or two, be ok. But you have to think đ€ for every 100 people...$1.00 each person is $100. So think about how many more people/shoppers out there. Thatâs a lot of moneys đ” being ripped off from shoppers like us. If you donât tell them, they will keep on doing. But if you keep an eye đ when they ring you up, they wonât do it because they know your watching carefully at them.
Thai Binh Supermarket & Thai An Oriental Market are both same family owner. Both stores, shoppers must watch carefully when shop there.
One time a neighbor of mine bought some food jars. The next week , she opened the jar of food, and found it to be bad already. It has a bad Oder smell to it. The neighbor called up Thai Binh Supermarket to informed them. They said ok come by and she did. When they saw she had close to 10 jars of food to refund, they say âNo we canât give you a refundâ The neighbor then drove home. I told her take the jar of foods to Health Department or Food Reg Dept and report on them, it will teach them a lesson. But the neighbor did not make report, they were to nice and kind hearted. If it were me, forget you, you did something to me, Iâll give...
