I am giving two stars instead of one because they let me take back my system free of charge after being unable to fix my issue. I greatly appreciate that, at least.
About two weeks ago, I brought a New Nintendo 3DS XL into PokeBros that I bought off of eBay for a cheaper than normal price because it had a malfunctioning button. I was never initially given a time estimate until I called a few days later, and was told that an entire board would need to be replaced and that it would bring the total cost of the repair to $80. The part was going to take a week to get in, then the guy on the phone said that they would be able to actually fix the button in less than an hour. I assumed that it would be ready the same day the part came in because of that.
When I called in a week later to ask for an update, I was told by a technician that my device was now having further issues with the new part installed. I was also never called beforehand about this. I mentioned that I would be going out of town in a week, and would like my 3DS back before I leave. There was not very good communication on their part, and it felt like a gamble calling in to see how the repairs were going. When I called in today (again, 2 weeks since I dropped it off), there were still issues going on with the part.
I feel like I was very patient with them, even though I did call in frequently. Look, I don't know anything about electronics, so it's not my place to argue or complain if something doesn't go right at first. I am not very good at being assertive, and eventually it felt like I was being given general nothing-statements to keep me from calling back at one point. I understand you guys have other customers and devices you're working on, but some transparency about the time these repairs take would have been nice. I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I think you guys should make it a habit to call the customer first if a repair requires you to order a replacement part or something else goes wrong.
Today, I was able to come to an agreement with them. They put the original board back in, still with the button issue, but let me take it back without paying anything. Again, I am grateful for that, but I cannot help but feel annoyed that I am basically back at square one. If I may ask, where exactly did you get the part from? I know sites like AliExpress have cheap but often faulty replacement parts for 3DS and...

Needed to figure out whatâs going on with my Xbox. I walked in and seemed like I was interrupting something and was inconvenient to deal with. I had asked to see about fixing the Xbox due to black screen and was just told if it was it would be 80-120. Which is weird. If it is a fix specific to that youâd probably would have a fixed price. Example: brakes arenât working. Generally there is a fixed price to fix that known problem with proper inspection and typically free inspection.
The reason for the two star is poor communication and misleading prices. I had to show up 2 days later to see what was going on. No phoen cal to follow up nor any messages. No one to greet you, again felt like it was an inconvenience to be dealt with. Then finally being updated to let me know it was a hard drive issue that needed and update but wouldnât actually update. Then again new information of âif you want to take the Xbox you can, itâs ready, just have to pay 25$ for the diagnostic.â
What?!? Why was I not told this prior to dropping the Xbox off? I understand a diagnostic but from being a pervious ASE Certified Mechanic, I wouldnât charge anything if I didnât find out the problem⌠they didnât even open up the Xbox, just plugged it in and tried to update it. I get there may be special tools or programs but I doubt any were used.
I seriously would avoid this business at all cost. I paid my 26 bucks and change but save yourself some money and find a reputable place and one that will communicate...
Read moreWill not be returning. Marcus is a good dude and is extremely knowledgable but my interraction today while trying to trade in/sell a bix of Holo Yugioh cards left a bad taste in my mouth. The kid with the long hair had zero interest in doing a quick look through the collection. Price charted out every single card in the box on rhe lowest scale over the past 2 weeks and it came our to roughly $2200, i know going theough and pricing a set is annoying but its his job. He offered me $50 without even looking at 3% of the collection. I offered to take $300 which some could be instore and some cash but he immediately shot me down because what i can only assume as laziness because he kept repeating "I dont want to deal with the trouble of going through all of these" This particular guy is clearly in the business of taking advantage of desperate people which is how he aquired the cards that he then turns around and sells at medium to the high price point on pricecharting. Its disgusting, bad business and frankly very toxic for the community. As a side note, i was in there for 3.5 hours going through all of their pokemon singles searching for vintage pokemon cards and talking with marcus, i paid full price for every card i purchased w. Zero haggling. If you go into this store Avoid the long hair kid and get with marcus. Marcus is legitimately the only reason this rating wasnt a 1...
