I do not leave reviews, ever, but my fiancé and I have never experienced such an unpleasant situation with a professional business in our lives. We were yelled at and told to never come back.
My fiancé and I tried going through Elmquist for a moss agate center stone for my engagement ring. Through email, they sent us a couple photos of a stone and we went forward with it. We do not live in the area, so we paid over the phone and requested a receipt be emailed to us since we had a family member pick it up from the store.
When we were able to come to town and get the stone from the family member, we realized the stone was a doublet. Nowhere in the email regarding the stone did it say that and that was not what I was hoping for. We called to discuss returning or exchanging for a different cut, but the woman we spoke with was extremely rude. She told us thatâs the only stone they could get and with an attitude said, âWell, if you donât like it, then return it!â
The next time we were in town during their open hours, we tried to make the return, but were told they were not sure if they could due to the vendor, but theyâd call us with more information. We never received a call.
The next time we were in town, we went in again to make the return. A woman started helping us, but she wasnât quite sure what to do. She was nice. She had another woman come out who started pulling up our information. She was also nice, and she seemed to know about our order and who had originally helped us before sheâd even pulled up our information. As she was trying to talk with us and fill in the other woman, one of the owners, Mike Noonan, came out from the doorway where he had been watching. He immediately was short with us saying they canât do a return for it because it was through a certain vendor and maybe it would have been different if weâd returned it within the first week we received it. We informed him we were told by an employee to return it, the emailing about the stone never mentioned a return policy, they never sent a receipt though we requested it so we were not notified of a return policy that way, and we saw no return policy information on the website. He kept repeating how they wouldnât do a return and kept getting meaner towards us. I was shaking because I have anxiety, and Iâve never been talked to in such an aggressive way by a professional owner.
I asked if theyâd be able to resell it to another costumer because they seemed to be in high demand, as we were told several other couples were in Elmquist asking for them per what we were told by the original woman working with us when we first inquired about them. Mike Noonan then shouted back at me that, â in the 40 years Iâve been in this business, no one has ever asked for that stone!â One of the female employees gently spoke up for us and stated they did have several couples asking about them at the time we were first in asking about them.
After she spoke up, Mike Noonan then took out his wallet, asked her how much the stone cost, and then through money down on the counter stating, âtake it, and donât come back.â
My fiancé and I were speechless and the two women at the counter seemed equally shocked and uncomfortable. We said thank you and...
Read moreI purchased a new watch staff were extremely helpful & knowledgeable they made a quick sale. After the adjusted the band to fit they said thank you, I asked for the box. Oh didn't think you'd want it. After the box they stayed they kept the links they took out. They explained they keep them in house so the customer doesn't lose them but not to worry they are saved & filled under your name so not to get lost I did not insist but said everything else trying to leave with my links I just paid for but tried trusting them. Watch was great but after a few weeks it needed another link. I made it in before close they immediately came to help but said they probably don't have any in stock. I explained you guys kept my links I purchased. They explained that the links are kept in the back under there filing system. that only the guy that does repairs knows how to find my parts I purchased & I'd have to leave my watch over night so they could compare links to my watch with others. I mentioned being told customers stuff being stored separately filled so your purchased links don't get lost. They explained they're actually kept in a bag in the back with others not filed or labeled. I left my watch after the kind lady stated i could also have my links i purchased when i picked up the watch the next day I left my number and was told I'd get a call right away when it was done. I received no call several hours after open I decided to go in & the watch was ready was upon arrival. There was one link in the bag i asked about the rest. They frustratingly marched to the back where after some time came out with a ziplock bag full of my style links mixed together unprotected and they sharply asked " well how many do you want then? " they didn't know how many they took from me when I asked I just wanted what I paid for & to leave. They refused to help me so I received 3 links back even though more was taken & left. I will not return. Great knowledge & quick to help but I will never do business there again...
Read moreI had went in for a battery watch replacement and the receptionist lady wanted to charge me $15 "or" $25!! I thought such a asking price was outrageous and quite robbery for a battery doesn't cost no more than $7. The lady at Elmquist Jewelry refused to give me a breakdown of the itemized list of how much labor and battery cost for NO labor and item cost the same. With tax, my total came to be $26.97 đ đĄ And when I returned to receive an "itemized list" an older lady, an employee, began to yell and spoke to me in rude tone in front of her customer, and other customers. Her rude tone demonstrates the dishonesty of the company when you inquire about the price charges like I did in questioning the charge of my watch battery watch, smh. Go anywhere but this place, for they have no problem with being DISHONEST and trying to make a quick buck at YOUR expense. Do not go here for any watch battery replacement. Go to B.W.I that's just down the road. It's $7 there... like it should be. Plus, THEY were NOT honest with me about the ACTUAL price of the watch battery for how does a customer know if they are gonna be charged $15 or $25 and she choose the highest charge. Please see the picture of proof of how they "itemize their costs"...greedy people is...
