Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Willmar

I used to typically eat here once a week and I will not come here after my last 2 visits. I’m absolutely not sure what had happened recently as this used to be one of my favorite places in Willmar. So for context our normal server is no longer there when we go in (she was always so kind and helpful), there was a newer male server. He was sweaty and seemed super nervous, he didn’t greet us when coming to our table to take our order. My first red flag with this new server was he didn’t take down our order which was concerning as it was rather large, the second red flag is our lemons looked dyed or maybe moldy?, the third was it took a super long time to receive our food and he kept coming back to ask questions. By the time our food had gotten to the table we were hungry and frustrated by the long wait (which wasn’t typically the case prior to whatever changes they made) it was missing multiple items, had the wrong food on some plates, and was really bland and greasy. During this visit we had a pregnant family member whose soup had been served with rotten spoiled chicken in it. Which in and of itself was a huge issue because she got severe food poisoning from it. Our potatoes were burnt to a crisp, our eggs were ice cold, our other food like I said never showed up. We expressed this to our server and still not everything showed up. They took our soup off the bill, but for how bad this meal was I wish we would’ve just not eaten it, spoke with a manager, and picked somewhere else to eat. We got a very small discount due to the missing items and had we not gotten to sick and been preoccupied we more than likely would’ve called corporate to check out what changed a delicious clean place into a germ pool of rotten and burnt food. I am not sure where to begin. I normally never write reviews but this has to be the WORST exp I have ever had in my life. We chose Perkins over all other places we saw because we wanted a nice "Homestyle" filling dinner. We ordered Turkey Dinners, Steak Dinners and my son got chicken strips. All food arrived very COLD to the touch and I instantly sent it back and we left only paying for our drinks. There was no way I would accept the food we were given. While we were waiting on the food we kept looking around noticing how filthy dirty the place was. There was food all over the carpets and staff just standing around joking and laughing with one another. No one tending to the floors or dirty tables. The carpeting was so soiled it was nice colored under the tables but in the walking pathways the carpets were almost black from soil, dirt ect. One of the dirtiest places I have ever been to eat. As we exited I had to use the rest room and I was also just beyond disgusted I didnt even go. The toilets look like they havent been cleaned in years and there was filth all over the walls and floor. Very very unclean place to go and I wouldnt suggest it to anyone. What shocked me most is that the employees were just standing around. I gave this restaurant a low review due to the poor service all around. The restaurant was not busy and we waited about an hour before we got our food for 3 individuals. Many folks that ordered after us received their meals before us. When we were able to catch an employee, who we thought was a manager, though he did not have a name tag, and asked about our order, he promptly brought out our food. Not sure how long it had been sitting under the warmer, but our food was not hot, our pancakes were hard, and our butter wouldn't even melt. We asked the gentleman how long it had been sitting there, he honestly didn't know. He apologized and asked if he could reheat it but we declined. Our waitress, Morgan, finally came to check on us. In doing so, we expressed our food was not very warm and asked how long it had been sitting in the windows. She gave excuses, never once apologized. She even had the audacity to roll her eyes at us when we mentioned we were missing part of our order. When she came back with the muffin, I called her out on what I saw. She gave another excuse, a denial, and then gave a sassy remark. Poor quality of food. Poor service. Poor customer service! Never...
