Let me tell everybody about my experience at Slumberland Willmar, MN 01/04/2016, at 5:09 PM. I was told by Mike J that worked there that my payment went through for my couch of $500.00 down, till I can come up with the rest later this month. When I got there to pick the couch up, he told me that the money didn’t go through on Saturday. As I continued to talk to Mike about this couch questioning why my payment didnt go thru when I had more than that in my account, he told me to write a check out for the whole amount and that he would cash it later on in the month, for I could get the couch that day, and keep in touch till then so we can get it to go thru. So as he held onto my check, WROTE ON PAPER THAT I PAID THE COUCH IN FULL (I have the documentation with his initials stating I paid it), and went out to the warehouse, I had a diffferent guy come up to me saying, you cannot get this couch because we need the whole payment to go thru, before you can recieve the couch. Warehouse guy said, “I overheard you talking to Mike, and you don’t have the money in full, as of now.” As I worked with a “professional” Mike J, he pretty much did shady business under the table promising there customer the couch. I even called him on my way there to ask him if the couch was in and he told me to come get it, that we would work things out and that it wouldnt be a problem for me to get the couch, and Mike insisted ion me coming as I confirmed the pick up delivery. When I got there and approached Mike J, and he gave me the papers to go to the warehouse to pick up my couch, I went out there. To meet Mike J and the warehouse guy, I was told by the guy that helps load the furniture, that I wouldnt be able to get the couch, even though I had the paid slip, with Mike’s initials, with a zero balance receipt, stating I paid it in full. The warehouse guy, told me that he overheard Mike and I talking saying that the money never went through, on his end. So I told the two of them, if this is an issue I will go talk to whoever is in charge. As I was point in Gordon K, direction, and his wifes direction, I told the wife that I was very fusturated that I was told I could get this couch on top of having Mike print me off a reciept saying it was paid in full, with the pick up couch paperwork. As she continued to roll her eyes at me and laugh, with rude remarks, I told her I had a receipt from Mike J, he signed, saying I have payed for it, with the warehouse copy in my hand, I still have both pieces of documentation, stating it was paid for in full, SO WHERE IS MY COUCH? No I didnt pay the couch in full, the sales associate should have never told me it was ok to get this couch, if it was a problem!?! I will post attachment of the receipt so people can look at the evidence itself. One thing that really got me fusturated the most is Mike J, kept saying that he tried to run the $900.00 instead of the $500.00 like we discussed. Telling his managers that he tried to run the $900.00 instead of the $500.00, lying infront of his bosses and myself, when I had to correct him several times that $900.00 never got ran, and he told me he was going to work with me and let me get the couch doing payments. This has been the worst business experience I have ever encountered. They should have done customer satisfaction in this case, knowing everything I have experienced in this situation. On top of me not getting a couch, he ordered the wrong one. Instead of ordering me a powered-recliner couch, he ordered a non powered couch, told me before all the negative issues, to bring the couch to my house, and they would order me a new one, in two days have the delivery guys come over, and switch them out for free. Couldnt this have all been avoided beforehand? Also, I was not even told by Mike that there was a 5 year protection plan, in regards to the couch that I would have gotten if everything would have fallen through, how it should have. This is just some of the main issues I experienced, and I will never recommend anyone to go to...
Read moreBuyer beware when shopping here. I just moved here and was in need of a bed. I saw the store was promoting a remodel sale. We went in and looked at several options and found one I liked. Of course, it wasn't in stock and had to be ordered. It took 3 weeks which wasn't too bad. My rating is based on the following. Once you buy it, your stuck with it. I attempted to cancel the order but was refused even though it was only 72 hours later. All sales are deemed final even if you don't have possession of the items yet. Why did I attempt to cancel? We took photos of the bed, stock number, and pricing. The bed was advertised at $828 with a sale price of just over $400 before tax. I found the same exact bed, exact model, advertised at just over $300 with a sale price of just over $260. That is simply deceptive and false advertising on the part of Slumberland. My phone calls to speak with our salesperson was met with excuses of why he couldn't come to the phone and that he would call me back. He never did. My calls to speak with the manager were met by he isn't in, isn't available, and can we have someone call you back. They never did. I had a whole place to furnish but after the bed fiasco and lack of concern from them my business went and will remain elsewhere. I hope my situation was an exception but some other negative reviews...
Read moreBEWARE - READ FYI! We bought a living room set here. We were on the fence about whether the color would be right for our living room so we asked our salesman about their return policy. He (Carlos) said we have 30 days to return it. We called 11 days following delivery to let them know we wanted to return it. At this time, my wife was informed that we could only get in-store credit because we were past the 5-day window (what?!). She argued that our salesman told us we had 30 days and my wife was told they can’t control what their sales people say, and essentially that we should have read the “fine print” of our purchase agreement. My wife was told the manager (Paul) would call her, Paul never called. She is now furious and asked me to call. I called and spoke with Carlos who also told me that we should have read the “fine print” and that Paul would call. Paul never called in the 6 days we were told he would contact us. We returned the couch for in-store credit, AND paid a $100 restocking fee. Once that’s spent we will never spend another penny here. We were misinformed by our salesman and the store refused to honor what we were told. This whole experience left us thinking this deceptive sales approach is standard operating procedure here...
