I was really hoping to finally find a place to get pedicures but once again I was disappointed. I’m going to preface this review by saying I am a licensed nail technician myself and have been for 14 years so I know how things should be done.
To start off, I was early and was perfectly fine waiting in the waiting area until my appointment. I arrived early expecting to possibly need to fill out new client paperwork as most spa have you do. I was immediately sat in the pedicure chair to start soaking my feet while the tech started a mani service. I was under the impression that she may have just been doing a polish change. I ended up sitting in the pedicure chair soaking my feet for almost 40 minutes before my service was started. The water had gone cold 10mins into soaking.
The tech asked if this was my first time here I said yes and she immediately tried to upsell me to dazzle dry without discussing pricing with me. I read the pricing before hand so I chose an OPI color. I booked for a pomegranate and fig spa pedicure. Not the deluxe. Well, the paraffin was sitting I was asked to pay, which is usually not a big deal. The pedicure I had booked for was $55 and I was asked to pay 60. I’m assuming the technician did not correctly check her schedule to see which pedicure I had booked for. Either that or she purposely tried to upgrade me without giving me any knowledge again about pricing. Initially, when I had said $55 in cash is what I would be paying she said let me check. There is no clear outlining of the service on the website so I wasn’t sure what their spa pedicure entailed so I didn’t think twice when I was given paraffin (which was extremely hot for no reason. Paraffin shouldn’t burn when it’s applied). The hot towels for the mask portion were barely warm and they were made only 10 mins prior to the service actually starting. The products also smelled like they might have gone bad.
The nail file and buffer were used and since both are porous items they need to be single use only according to state board regulations. The foot file was wood and didn’t have the capability to replace to abrasive sticker so I’m afraid that was previously used on other clients as well. The foot filing was very minimal and I still can feel in visually see the dry skin on my heels and toes.
Towels were never replaced the entire service so even after the “massage” my feet were sitting nail clipping, scrub and dirty pedicure water. The massage itself was barely 5 mins in total. I have never given or received a spa pedicure that is supposed to be 90mins with that little of a massage. The only good thing about this service is at the nails themselves, do not look bad. I’ve definitely had worse in that department.
In all, I would not recommend this establishment for services strictly based on professionalism...
Read moreI booked a last minute pedicure with a friend for the other day. When I got there there was no one there aside from the technicians and front desk girl. They were very friendly and the place was clean so it looked very promising. When I was taken to the pedicure station, I told my technician that I have a bruised toe and would rather her just leave it alone. She completely disregarded that request. When she was pushing the cuticles back it was very rough but I just ignored that. She wound up cutting the cuticles for my big toe WAY TOO much to the point of bleeding. I didn't say anything because I noticed her try to clean it up. But then she continued on with the pedicure!!! With the base and polish and top coat. After my toes were painted I noticed my big toe was STILL bleeding. So all of those polishes are biohazards now! Big yikes. When I told her that I'm still bleeding and it's painful she kept telling me that "I'm too sensitive", trying to push the blame on to me. Absolutely not. While my toes were drying she tried to sell me on a manicure and on dazzle dry, which of course I denied. Then she continued to tell me how sensitive I am and that I should have told her that I'm sensitive, but I've had many pedicures in the past and this has never happened to me. I unhappily paid for the overly expensive service, went home (where it was still bleeding) and washed it with antibacterial soap and put on Neosporin. It's been almost 2 days later and my toe is still sore. I've never had an experience at a salon like that. To be disregarded of my request is one thing, but to gaslight me?! Absolutely not. I was livid, still livid. I will never go back to Allure for...
Read moreUnfortunately all of the reviews I read regarding poor scheduling and customer service ended up being true. I called to confirm my request for a pedicure and, though my requested time was unavailable, they offered another time which I agreed to. I received text confirmations of the new time but when I showed up 10 minutes early, the woman who was supposed to take me started asking all of the other staff if someone else could take my pedicure appointment instead. Nobody would so she asked me to come in the next day instead, which I couldn’t. The staff just sat there saying nothing. It appeared they didn’t account for the time of the appointment before and after mine so said they wouldn’t have time for me. The owner/manager did nothing, if she had even feigned an attempt at rectifying the issue she created I would have considered rescheduling but her complete disinterest in taking responsibility or resolving the issue made it clear she could not have cared less about seriously inconveniencing a potential client. Poorest customer experience I’ve ever had at a nail salon and, with so many other to choose from, I would never recommend this place solely based on how they handled (or ignored) their...
