Being it was the week before Valentine’s Day, there were several people in the store. There were two clerks assisting customers, and a gentleman and I were waiting to be helped. I was next in line. I started with the next available clerk. I went specifically on this particular day to take advantage of a 20% off sale on "choose your own candies in a heart-shaped box." There was also a sale on one pound pre-boxed. The staff was not aware of the heart box sale, only the pre-boxed. I had to point out the sign in the display case to them. The second clerk finished with her customer and went to the back room, leaving the next customer unattended. It was taking a few minutes to assemble my order and after ringing it up, I questioned whether the discount had been applied. The clerk could not figure this out and had to call the other clerk/manager from the back to help her with the register. During this time, the other customer continued to wait. After helping with the register, clerk number two returned to the back room, leaving the other customer unattended. At this point he left the store.
