We have been visiting Wilmington for 25 years. We have always gotten our cheese and gifts at the country store. I loved hearing Al's stories of Germany and his experiences owning the store. After Irene hit, he continued on. The store was his life. The new owners retained the employees which shows how smart they are. Marie has been a welcoming presence for many years at the store. She is the best chocolatier. Her peanut butter cups are sooo good. Now that she is the manager, she continues to be a welcoming presence. I love that she looks forward to giving out cheese samples to every kid that comes in there. She always has a smile on her face.    Read moreCharming place to visit. Super friendly staff. The town is lovely...like really classic New England. The building is pretty old, so it feels like you're stepping back in time. The floors are a little uneven, so be careful. The stuff they sell is mostly touristy stuff, like t-shirts, mugs,figurines,etc. They also had maple syrups, and cheese.    Read moreUnfortunately our experience was not the best there. One of the ladies behind the counter was offering samples of cheese. Two ladies ahead of my daughter received a sample and when I asked my girl to grab a sample the lady turned her back and "busied" herself ignoring my daughter's request for cheese. Was this exclusion about race or age? I would hope that type of hatred didn't exist but it felt just like that! I was watching my daughter get discriminated in 2024 on our family vacation.
