We try to love this place. The food and drinks are amazing. The little outdoor dining area is lovely. The service though.
First time we went here, was Cinco de Mayo. We got there at open and was seated. Nothing out of the ordinary happened this time. Everything was great.
Second time we made reservations for a 2 seat high top. We get there and they seat us at a 6 person table in the corner. We don't even get flatware for about 30 minutes. We finally order and we get our drinks about what felt like 20 minutes later. Food never came. We paid for the drinks, left and went out to eat.
This past time was more of the same. Restaurant was fairly empty. We sat where we wanted. Two parties were sat about the same time as us. One before, one after. Same story. One party is finishing their entrees as the other party is getting served their entrees. We are waiting on our drink and appetizer. Again, food and drinks were outstanding. Zero issues with this. We paid for what we got and then went out to eat.
By all means get food here. Their menu is great. Just...
Read moreThe food was ok. Definitely not the best Mexican food you’ll ever eat, but it was good enough and the prices were good too. Originally I would have given 4 stars, but need to call out some underhanded tactics.
First off they charge you 10% for takeout. So whether you eat in or out you’ll need to pay for service. I’ve never seen a place charge a percentage for takeout.
Second off, for my takeout order, which I was already charged 10% on, there was no complementary hot sauce. I had to pay $1 per each side of hot sauce. The kicker is I got less than .5 oz for each side of hot sauce and I watched the server pour it from a store bought bottle.
Everywhere I’ve ever had Mexican food, hot sauce is always included as it’s a staple of the culture. Also more often then not it’s house made. Really couldn’t look the other way on this one.
Not sure how the rest of the food stacks up, but ended up hitting the supermarket the next day and cooking at home to avoid another similar experience out there...
Read moreOur first visit after a friend recommended we go. We parked in the public parking near by and walked to entrance, look for the Mexican flag as the entrance is in the alley between buildings. It was very crowded there was a large group dining which seemed to have set the kitchen behind but we had chips and salsa with some margaritas to hold us by. We were able to sit outside too as it was hot indoors, we arrived by 6, earned meals by 7 so not terrible considering plus our server kept. He king and apologized for delay. The food was worth the wait, even had some left over to take home. My husband thought the enchiladas were too crunchy but I didn’t mind, added some extra salsa and the inside was not overcooked, I really enjoyed my meal and plan to go back. I may suggest we go earlier to see if anything changes but we do plan to go back for sure...
