My husband and I were staying in Wilmington this week and we fortunate enough to find this little gem of a bar/restaurant!
We ate there two nights in a row! Both nights we had the pleasure of sitting with Sandra who is AMAZING by the way as is her husband who we got to meet night 2! Super friendly, down to earth and just beautiful souls all around…this includes the owner Stephanie! Truly, you are made to feel right at home as soon as you step in the place! So inviting…you really don’t wanna leave!
Now, the part everyone wants to know about….the food! It is SO, SO goood! The chef put his foot in it as we like to say down here in NJ! Day one I had the fried chicken tenders with hot honey and the vegetable curry…the chicken was seriously the best I ever had. Perfectly fried and super moist! The hot honey was perfect as was the roumeloude (misspelled). The vegetable curry had fresh in seasonal vegetables, the curry was yummy and the whole meal was just the best comfort food! Warms the soul friends…truly! I also had the strawberry shortcake for my birthday dessert…so light and the layers of flavor were on point! Sandra brought it out with candles and got the whole bar to sing…it really made my night special!
Night two…started with the Brussel sprouts. Now, let me tell you I always like to take shot when ordering these and I am generally never pleased, BUT…this time around I was out of this world impressed! I mean AWESOME…not burnt at all…the flavors were just delicious and pickled onions! I was done! SO freakin good! I followed up with their homemade Mac and cheese and it did not disappoint! Warmed my soul!
Came to find out Sandra’s husband is a chef and his wisdom in the kitchen was passed to the folks in the back of the house…thank you Joseph!!!!
Seriously, if you want a quality meal and I mean quality with great portion sizes GO….you will not be disappointed!
We cannot wait to return…and trust and believe we will be!
Thank you for all you do 19 South Main…YOU do it PERFECTLY!...
Read moreFirst time visiting this establishment. Food was excellent. Great live acoustic guitar and singer. Amazing home baked bread. We had the short rib chili and ceasar salad with chicken plus key lime pie and tiramisu. (key lime pie was great... tiramisu was a very small portion for a full priced dessert but ok maybe less calories are better lol). Service was lovely and everyone attentive.
The reason for the 3 which wouldve been a 4.5 to 5. Mind you its Monday night of labor day weekend in a holiday town... Most have gone back home after the long weekend. We entered, were asked if we had a reservation (which we didnt... however we noted 4 to 5 open tables in the main seating area some with seats by the window over looking the river or just further in so it could be a nicer experience) anyway understanding we may have needed a reservation... we were happy to just get a seat... Of which they sat us directly in front of the front doorway. That was originally fine but we simply expected those other seats were going to fill up with the way we were handled when we entered. Well they never did... and i kept looking around for those seats to get filled up with all those reservations but they didnt. We watched others come in.. Not sure if they had reservations either... But seated in nicer areas. Maybe the staff knows them I dont know. It just felt like we were treated differently than others. Ill give it another try another day... But first impressions are everything and making people feel truly welcome and giving everyone your best possible is just good customer service and leaves no...
Read moreThe overall reviews of 19 South Main is excellent and is the food. I was there last night (7/7/2022) and noticed that someone wrote an bad review because they were short staffed. The server was not tipped and the customers decided to further insult the staff by writing zero's everywhere for tip and some nasty words. Those of us who live here in the Mt. Snow/Deerfield Valley Area are fortunate that most visitors and second home owners are kind and thoughtful people. But once in a while we have people like those who left a scathing review come for a visit and bring their city attitude with them. You know the kind, they snap their fingers and want you to jump for their every whim. They lack patience and understanding and a modicum of kindness and expect that we want them to come back, but we don't. We are a kind, loving, community oriented valley and hope that you will be the same when you come to visit. Not everyone is 100% at all times. I'm sure that the people who wrote the scathing review are not perfect either and probably should remember that. Yes, as a rule, we do not expect the traffic in the valley that sometimes surprises us and when that happens, please show some respect or don't come back. Leave your city attitude or where ever you came from that you think your attitude is acceptable. One has to consider that the majority of the reviews on 19 South Main are excellent as further stated, so perhaps these customers don't realize that, everyone has an opinion but we all know what they say...
