Marshalls — Local services in Wilmington

Wow, so I always forget the great deals Marshall's has. I went in and immediately found 3 items I wanted for my upcoming Jamaica vacation. I have a few things still on my list as well as some other home items I've wanted to look for. After a while I started noticing the security guard every where I was. I wanted other items and called my sister in law to get her opinion on certain things but I was getting distracted and irate over this security guard every where I went. So at checkout I was asked how things were, I stated I was glad I found these items and would have gotten more but was tired of being followed. Another employee came up and was chatting with my son and I said the same thing to her. They some what apologized but it wasn't their place to and I stated that is why I online shop more. It's an uncomfortable feeling to have brown skin and that be the only reason to be treated that way. The associates tried to carry a conversation on and I let them know I was shopping for Jamaica and I said not my son, hes not going. So they asked what he was going to use the boggie board he was getting for and he let them know for our pool. She said oh, hes hinting something and I said no, we are getting an inground pool put in. So in my head the $250,000 home I own is nothing when you have brown skin at time. So sad that things are still this way. So disappointed in this Marshall's. Not that I shop there often, but this is a reason to feel my money isn't green...

Never have problems with the store, but today when I went to try on clothes the fitting room associate was extremely rude and made the over all experience uncomfortable. At first she ignored me, then when I asked for a room she condescendingly took my clothes and put them on the return rack to count them while reciting policy- I understand having the rules, but acting as if a customer should just know them and getting upset when they don’t is another thing. After I tried the clothes on I returned four items. As I was walking away she shouted across the store at me that they didn’t fit because they were men’s shorts, which I personally prefer for a more conservative fit while I work out, as if I did not know which section I got them from. It felt very uncomfortable that she shared what I was trying on in front of...

8.2.2024 update First, let me say the older managers here are great. I shop here all the time and am a regular. Don't know what's happening tonight. None of them were up front. Tons of people in line. 1 young cashier ringing slowly while talking to another who was playing with the clothes hangers. She should have put those down and helped. Customers were getting upset. Finally, another young girl came up and they all engaged in small talk before she started ringing. So finally there were 2. The other continued with the hangers. Unreal!! Really need to get it together!! Someone needs train this young staff on courtesy and customer service. It was poor tonight...
