Hello, it is very rare for me to leave a review but I had such a terrible experience that I hope no one else experience what my family and I went through. On April 3rd of 2022, my family and I decided to get food at Brunches in Mayfaire around 9:44. We were admitted to a table immediately, we thought we were lucky considering the wait is usually very long. We sat on the outside porch with the cover, there was a door connecting to the outside half and inside restaurant. After my family sat, we waited for less than 10 minutes and was greeted by our server. We ordered our drinks, 4 waters. Another wait of 6 minutes before the drinks were brought out but this was understandable because it was busy and we were in no rush. Eventually some time has passed and we are starting to get a little jittery waiting for our female waitress to return but we gave the benefit of the doubt because maybe she was busy and we can understand that. That is what we kept telling ourselves. As we sit, a table of 2 white woman was sat down across from us and we watched as they ordered drinks (which was served immediately). They came in after us but was given the option to order the food ahead of us, they had an amazing male waiter who filled up their drinks and gave them a time frame of the food. Our waitress was no where to be found. At 10:12, we placed our orders (I remember this exact time because I wanted to compare how long it takes from the Mayfair and Randall location). As I waited for our food, I looked around. Around 3 couples and 1 table of five people came in AFTER us and we watched as they were given immediate service. Some actually got their food before us but there was also other people that was waiting like us. The difference was the service that was given and how differently they were treated. I believe they all had different waiters/waitresses but they were all very kind. They kept coming in and out to fill up drinks and give notices on their food. Our waitress had not enter the outside premises in over 30 minutes. She had not filled up our drinks or said anything about our order. In the beginning, I could see her inside with other customers. Eventually, I got up to go ask the lady at the front desk about our waitress. She had to go find her. I am not sure if she ever did find her because our waitress had still not return. Around 10:56, she came back out with trays of food and was starting to approach our table but quickly turned because the food was actually for another table (who came in after us). There was no interactions, no further explanation on the whereabouts of our food. Due to that experience, my family decided to leave. We will not be returning to the Mayfaire establishment. I highly recommend the Brunches at...
Read moreWe had the most dreadful experience of eating at this place. We were weekending at the beach and read positive reviews in several places including one centered on gluten free eating which said they had a separate gluten free menu. I perused the menu on your drive down there were delicious looking options pictured. However once we arrived, the place was swarming with teenagers that just stared at us when we entered the place and approached the host stand, we had to ask if they could seat us. We were not offered inside or out, but decidedly ask. Then neglected once sat. I got up and asked the hostess if there was a gluten free menu, all four said they didn't know anything about it, maybe there used to be. Our server, young but articulate had zero knowledge about the gluten free option but at least admitted so and promised to ask the necessary questions of the kitchen staff. I decided since to get an avocado toast based on the menu description and picture. My boyfriend ordered a burger and fries, a beer for him and a spicy blood mary for me. About a hundred very young staff darted past us in the very small space between our low table and the high top that towered over us, never acknowledging us despite trying to ask for more water and straws to share my bloody mary. Both drinks were disappointing, his flat, mine did not come with the listed garnished that I had specifically ordered the drink for (pickled okra) but instead ones that I am allergic to (banana peppers). The bacon was rubbery. Once our food arrive and we bite in we were solidly disappointed! Thinking 'at least the food will be good, and we'll be fed for all this chaos.' Not at all. Boyfriend said his beer was flat, and it was the worst burger he ever had, which is to say a lot. Mine was even worse. Not only was the guacamole spread literally spoiled, but the avocado slices were very over ripe both taste and look wise. And the gluten free burger bun wasn't even toasted, at all! It was a crumbly cakey mess. Avocado toast! The bacon was again cold and rubbery, but the egg was somehow not terrible. The 'salad' however described online was not a spring greens with vinaigrette on the plate but a very mushy, over dress cesaer salad consisting of dressing and romaine in a small cup. At least they remembered to leave the croutons off. Anyways, it was so bad my boyfriend insisted we only eat at places we've been before and get the same thing from now on, sadly. I've never written a restaurant review before but felt lied to by other thus it was important that I chime in about this undeservedly...
Read moreI wish I could give the service and manager, Ruben, a zero or less stars. I had an absolutely infuriating experience at Brunches in the Mayfaire district. The waitress failed to mention that substituting a side of gravy and sweet potatoes would tack on an extra $7.50. When we brought this up with the manager, Ruben, he was shockingly rude and dismissive. He bluntly stated that it wasn’t their job to inform customers of extra charges and claimed there was no room on the menu to list these fees. Worse yet, when we asked for the owner’s contact information, Ruben refused and told us he wouldn’t be calling the owner. He offered no apology, no explanation, and essentially told us to just pay up and leave if we didn’t like it and never come back. This wasn’t about the money—it was about the principle and the blatant disrespect especially in front of my kids (which makes a traumatic experience for younger ones). The complete lack of transparency and the attitude were appalling. I left feeling extremely upset and will never return. Avoid this place if you want any semblance of decent customer service. The owner seriously needs to take action in what managers he promotes and hires especially Ruben in the Mayfaire brunches because his tone was very abusive, sexist, and racist. If my husband was there I bet you he would not treat us this way. He seriously needs to be fired. Some people are just not meant for food service and Ruben is one of them. The customer is always right and if not at least be respectful and kind when talking and approaching the situation. It’s saddening the food is so good, but the service...
