I thoroughly regret being talked into my yoga teacher at training at Pure Yoga. I joined in hopes that I could find stillness in my life, but the only stillness I found was countless hours of waiting for class to begin on time or for the teacher to discuss a relevant topic. This training has left me with a deep yoga resentment during a time in my life when yoga could be very beneficial.
In my honest opinion, I don’t think I received anywhere close to 200 hours of actual teacher training. Almost every day contained close to an hour if not more of irrelevant conversation to basic gossip that the teacher led or disregarded.
I was one of two men in this YTT class and as in most yoga environments, we were outnumbered by women. I’ve practiced in multiple studios for years where this is the scenario with no judgement. On multiple instances during these irrelevant conversations (that I am paying for) the teacher would notice that the other male & I had jaded looks on our faces and chuckle saying look how bored the men look, and then continue chatting. Read moreCompleting my yoga teacher training certification at pure yoga was truly a life changing experience for me! I have been practicing yoga at the studio for over 8 years and it is always the most warming and welcoming environment. Every instructor treats you like a friend and I’ve built great relationships with the people there. It feels like a yoga family! Because of this, I knew I had to do my YTT at pure. As expected, the training was led by some of the most renowned yoga instructors (men and women) from Delaware and NYC. This may sound intimidating, but they were also some of the most down to earth and friendly people that made you feel comfortable and at ease while learning a ton of information in a short period of time. After completing the course, I fully felt confident that I had the knowledge to lead a yoga class. Upon graduating, you leave with what I like to call my “yoga bible” that I reference often while planning out a class. Since then I have been subbing as needed at pure yoga and will continue on my yoga journey with this wonderful studio. Even if you’re not interested in teaching, the course is great for deepening your practice and taking your yoga practice to a different level. Highly recommend this studio and the 200 hour yoga teacher...
Read moreI had an injury doing another sport and the chiropractor suggested doing yoga, so I came to Pure Yoga, I had previous experience with yoga but never long term or with a goal. I had Meredith, Hunter and Joe for instructors for a long time, i made the class almost every day, my yoga grew so much, my injury went away, my passion for yoga grew thanks to this studio, ended up doing my own yoga instructor curse. Ive been to different events and always are amazing! they bring people from NY and Baltimore for great workshops. Monique's classes are awesome, i was lucky she was covering for somebody and got her in the afternoon for a while. Sorry I dont know many people from the mornings....
