Went to pick up my order on March 1st approximately 8:50. The Lady at the register was scrolling on the phone she didn’t even realized I came inside the restaurant then went to her co worker and was talking about how some guy tipped her well and she didn’t care that the guy paid the wrong bill because she claims he always tips well. Why would you not care about your mistake when the guy tips you well . The guy that was in the kitchen went to the register and tried to tell the lady check with for his order and give it to me she completely ignored him and both of them continued talk ten minutes in the conversation ended and then they handed me my food. The whole time my food was ready and sitting by the register before I even arrived got the food and it was cold. One I was not acknowledged by the lady and they made me wait about ten minutes when my food was just sitting there. Customer should be first and hearing the lady boast how she made a customer that usually comes there and tips really well make that guy pay a higher bill than he should’ve and saying she doesn’t care just rubbed me the wrong way . I would not support this business and very unprofessional. I hope this was a...
Read moreWent to Italian Market Philadelphia for a few hours and had an early stop at South Philly Barbacoa, but we left, it was later and time to eat. Ralph's on 9th Street was a little further and with all the groceries pulling on our arms, just went back to the car and left while looking for an Italian restaurant on the way. Cruised through Eddington and nothing excited us (we visited Ramona's before.) Then drove all the way to Little Italy in Wilmington, Delaware and we were to early for Pastabilities and had Mrs. Robin's lots of times. Eateries on Market Street weren't open for dinner yet, then remembered spots in Trolley Square. We parked near Cafe Verdi and that was our stop. Walked in and promptly greeted, found our table and ordered from the menu An off menu item for my girl and the classic lasagna for me. The guys there were hospitable, made our dishes to order and very cool. When our meals came out, that first lasagna bite was incredible. Had scratch kitchen Italian Wedding Soup that was amazing. The neighborhood regulars came in and bragged about their real Italian cuisine. It took a while to get to Cafe Verdi from the foodie city of Philly, but man oh man did we hit...
Read moreI LOVE this place! It's a "Pizza Joint" and if that's what you're looking for, you get that in spades. BUT- these guys know how to cook! I don't think I've had everything on the menu (I often can't seem to talk myself out of the "Pollo Alla Elizabeth [I hope I have that right]) but I've been impressed with every dish I've tried. This is a pretty small restaurant and I imagine some folks won't appreciate the fairly tight seating. Also, it's a few rungs down the "Fancy Restaurant" ladder, but it is awfully good for what it is. A final note: If you like calamari, if you like it but don't like its rubber quality, if you've never tried it or if you tried it but weren't exactly impressed with it elsewhere, TRY IT Here!! I've had calamari many places around the world including throughout Italy.... Theirs is BY FAR better than I've had anyplace else. ...and it's been that good every time! Again: I Love this place, I take out-of-town friends there and I...
