Engagement photo hair fail.... I went on Sunday, 04mar18, to have the June blow out. I called on Friday to confirm I could show up with dry hair because my hair doesn't hold a curl very well and day old dirty hair works best for that. I was told I could. I show up and I'm told I have to have it washed. Well, ok. They use a moisturizing shampoo and condition my hair top to bottom. My fault, I should have requested they not use moisturizing shampoo and DEFINITELY not condition root to ends. My hair is super oily and that is a recipe for disaster. After an hour and a half I emerge with hair that was ok. I had engagement photos very shortly after so I needed to be on my way. I could have done this at home with better results. I don't often get my hair done so much of this were things I didn't think about. Hindsight is 20/20. My hair was done by 2:30. Photo in my review was taken at 5. It was a hot stringy mess. I'm very sad at my engagement photos.... I should have went to a stylist who would work on dry hair but I was told they would. I saw the work on focus on the coast weddings, etc so I assumed I'd be happy with the results and judging by the reviews most are. However, if you are like me with oily scalp (therefore oily hair) and long hair that doesn't hold a curl very well, I think you are wasting your money. It was a windy day but honestly we were pleasantly surprised by the lack of wind downtown. My hair was limp and lifeless in the car ride to the engagement photos and all the moisturizer made it...

I was in Wilmington for vacation and wanted a blowout. Found this place and made an appointment. Upon walking in they asked my name and showed me the chair. No introduction from my stylist. I have no idea who she was or what her name was. Showed her a picture of my hair from a previous blowout and how I like it. No curls, just very loose waves. I tried to make small talk but apparently I caught her on a bad day. It took an hour and my hair was full of curls that looked like a complete mess. I made sure when I made my appointment that they work with hair with extensions. My hair looked like she had never styled hair with extensions before. It was not blended and you could visibly see she curled everything separate. I looked like I was going to a middle school debutante ball. I was meeting friends and family in town for a brunch so I had no time for it to be fixed and quite honestly I didn’t want them touching my hair anymore.
