I was a little bit worried about some of the reviews people have posted. Some whiner posted about a bad crab cake or this or that. And maybe so but more than likely it was there competition. It's been a long time since we've ate at a restaurant where everything from service to the food to the atmosphere and ambience was 100 out of 100% and this place is just that. Not only that they make you feel welcome and you can tell they care or at least they pretend to. We had a terrible day earlier and our visit here turned around our whole day. I got the fried shrimp with french fries coleslaw and a side of rice and beans which was absolutely perfect. My wife's pulled pork nachos they were above and beyond anything I've ever tasted. Our 18 month old stop eating her grilled cheese to rip into the pulled pork nachos and then swiftly pulled the whole plate of them to herself. I've had lots of pulled pork nachos yet I've never had pulled pork nachos in this league. Our waitress was top-notch and typically we are pretty cheap at 15% tip but I went with 30% as she was so kind. We have a six-year-old that literally eats Reeses spaghetti and yogurt and that's all period. They we're kind enough to heat up in the microwave precooked spaghetti we had brought with us on vacation for our six-year-old or else she would have had nothing else to eat. I could go on and on and probably list another 50 reasons why this place is so solid so good and such a great time. We are super grateful for our time here today and in a sense it brought our family closer together. Please keep up the good work and keep that Seafood is fresh as you served me in y'all can...

Not sure what the hype is. I agree with another reviewer, Karlie, and would add you would get better fish tacos at Applebee's for less money. The fact they ask you if you prefer grill to blackened mahi mahi with these is laughable since you're getting unseasoned minced tilapia either way. I'm not sure how they get away with this but they do apparently. There was no visible texture or seasoning and it looked like a tin of crab meat minus the expense of the crab. They had good salsa but this was the best part of the $14 plate.

My son received chicken tenders cooked in very old oil, to the point they were nearly black. He didn't eat them.

The only redeeming quality of this meal was the key lime pie. It was airy and it took the sweetness off, something I appreciate but it isn't for everyone. The staff was also well trained, I saw two teenage hostesses handle an angry middle-aged man professionally and with grace. My waitress was nice but never asked how the food was. The location was nice as well.

To be honest I only paid for this meal because my five year old son was there and I didn't want to enter into an argument in front of him. In my entire week long vacation to Wilmington this was the worst experience and it only set me back $50, so I consider myself lucky.

I hope establishments like this understand who they let down when they engage in this type of behavior. My host recommended this restaurant and it reflects poorly on someone when they recommend something so bad. Apparently I picked the worst things on the menu since the other reviews are favorable, but then again it is hard to pass off an entire tilapia fillet...

This was the WORST place I have ever been in to eat ! When we arrived we sat inside the restaurant! Their was only four other tables with guest at the time and two waitresses working the tables ! It took our waitress almost 40 minutes before we got our order for beverages and to place our order and she only had our table to weight and the table next to us ! Finally we placed our order after setting forever ! The waitress seemed like she only cared to take care of the guest on the back side of our table , because she would walk past us as if she didn't see us or as if we didn't fit into the crowd so to speak ! She brings our food to us ( four of us ordering different items ) and my mouth hit the floor ! I ordered fish and oysters , I had 8 oysters and a piece of flounder smaller than the size of my hand ! Let me add that plate was $20 , and the slaw had old brown cabbage in it and bland broccoli! The fish and oysters swam in grease, I ate a few of the oysters and gave the rest to my son to eat and sent back the broccoli and old slaw , the waitress NEVER asked me if the food was OK or if their was something wrong with it ! My husbands plate was just as bad as mine , he got shrimp and lemon pepper fries ! Grease swimming bland tasting shrimp , fries looked like they where the left overs out of the fryer ! I was very offended how my family was treated ! The ONLY thing good at this restaurant that I had was the coffee ! We paid $72 for a terrible and offensive experience! Don't waste your money or time stopping...

Fish House Grill is a casual spot that delivers both flavor and portion size, perfect for sharing a meal with family or friends. Food: • The nachos were a standout starter—loaded with pulled chicken, black beans, jalapeños, melted cheese, pico de gallo, and served with fresh guacamole and salsa. Every bite was flavorful and hearty. • The pineapple bacon cheddar burger struck a perfect balance of sweet and savory, and pairing it with steamed broccoli was a nice, fresh touch. • The tacos were generously filled, whether chicken, pork, or beef, topped with fresh onions, shredded cheese, and pico de gallo. Each came with a side of blue corn chips and dipping sauces, making them both filling and customizable. Presentation & Portions: Dishes came out well-portioned in classic red trays lined with paper, giving it a fun, laid-back vibe. The portions are large, so come hungry or be ready to share. Atmosphere: The outdoor seating had a lively, relaxed feel—great for groups and casual dining. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy good food without pretense. Overall: Fish House Grill nails casual dining with bold flavors, generous servings, and a menu that balances comfort classics with a fresh twist. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a satisfying, relaxed meal.

This restaurant is located right on the intercostal water way. The majority of seating is outside with a view of the beautiful yachts / boats, sea birds and the intercostal water way. There is also some seating inside at the bar and at a few tables. This restaurant is a less expensive and informal version of the next door restaurant Bridge tender. Note: It does get really busy at times and parking can be hard to find close to the restaurant. The fried seafood platter is one of my favorite fried seafoods in the area. It comes with really good fries and cole slaw. Yes…unlike a LOT of other restaurants in the area Fish house grill actually knows how to make really good southern cole slaw. It has a fine chop and the perfect taste. The salads are delicious and they offer several protein add ons and homemade dressings. The clam chowder, nachos, crab dip and buffalo shrimp are all good starters. The tacos are good and worth trying but not my favorite in the area. If you want a less informal dining experience with a beautiful view and good food this is your place.
