The place has potential but they need to step it up. There were at least 5 people standing around behind the bar chatting the whole time we were there (we sat at the bar). Despite having all these people standing around, our service sucked. The bartender (Emily) had zero personality and knew less than nothing about the menu, drinks, and general information about the restaurant. We had to ask the food runner for plates for our food (both times we ordered appetizers) and she never once came to ask how our food was. She always had a blank stare on her face when we asked for anything. We had to get the check from someone else (maybe a manager) who was equally clueless. Got the check, put cash out, sat for 15 minutes. No one came to get it — and it was obviously we needed change. Finally put a card out and flagged someone down to collect it.
We got the wings first — which were good but absolutely swimming in sauce. After that we asked what a couple at the other end of the bar had, and were told it was the quesadilla. We ordered the same but when ours came it, it looked completely different. No sides, no garnishes. Nothing. We asked why ours looked so different and she attributed it to a change in kitchen staff between day and night. Ummm ok.
Overall - the place has potential but really needs to figure some stuff out — like staffing. Bartenders need personality and need to actually serve customers, not just give them a drink...
Read moreI had high hopes for this establishment. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't so great. Obviously, being a new restaurant, they were highly overstaffed with lots of workers standing and or sitting around. Hostess was sitting on the counter with her feet up and another bartender on her phone. For appetizers, we had ordered the Julius peppers, which were pretty good, but the featured NC buffalo shrimp were nothing more than bland frozen shrimp. For our entree, we did the burger and pulled pork sliders and garlic cheese fries with bacon. Well, the pulled pork tasted like it was loaded with too much liquid smoke, I could be wrong, but regardless, the flavor was definitely not desirable on my palate. Moving on to the garlic cheese fries, they didn't come with ranch, so I asked the bartender if they should be served with ranch, and her response was,""I don't know. "However, I ended up spending .50 and it wasn't until I asked for a to go box that I finally found garlic butter at the bottom of the dish. Now, here's the kicker, I ordered 3 shots of Lunazol, which is quite cheap for tequila, and was charged for Espalon $12 each only because there wasn't a button on their POS system. Shocked by that, I asked how much was their Patron with the response was $9.. Why didn't I get informed of this. I certainly would have sprung for that before paying $12 for Lunazol. Regardless, we enjoyed Caleb as...
Read moreI’m happy to say that I got a little bit more than I bargain for. It looks like a nice clean place from the outside and it always seems busy so I gave it a try. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
Is I’m sitting down in a new place. I usually look around me at what everybody else is eating. It look like a lot of burgers sandwich sandwiches in wings. Everything looked terrific.
I chose the mahi-mahi fish and chips. It was battered and fried very well. Everything was crispy and crunchy and very hot when it came to the table. Both the fish and the fries had some seasoning on them. That was delicious. The tartar sauce wasn’t quite What I was looking for, so I ended up dipping the fish in mayonnaise. They also brought me some chipotle, ranch sauce for dipping my fries. Both were excellent!
I would absolutely go back again and try the burger or the wings. Both look like they would be terrific.
They do trivia night, one night a week and when I was there, they were doing musical bingo. The guy who did it was very friendly and invited me to play twice. I had a long day so I wasn’t up to it, but it was terrific to be invited. He was...
