In August I had to bring my iphone XR to the Techy location in Clermont, Florida for a broken screen while I was on vacation (I live in PA). Fast forward a month and I’m home now, the phone screen starts to bug out and go completely dark but would turn back on after a few moments, there was no history of damage during that month the phone worked fine. After awhile it went dark and would not work again, so I looked into a Techy location near me since I was informed by the Clermont Techy my screen is covered by a warranty for any defects. At first the Wilmington location seemed helpful, except when I brought the phone in the one tech told me after opening the screen and “fixing” the issue it would probably happen again and although they couldn’t honor my warranty they would be so nice as to charge me an additional $110 for a new screen. If I spent $144 initially and the last store couldn’t even fix it correctly why would I spend more money when the defect should have been covered by the warranty? I was told by another technician that the only way for the warranty to be honored is if the florida techy credited them for the screen. I was then told I would need to send my phone to corporate for them to run a diagnostic and determine if the screen is defective, insinuating that I damaged the screen when it was in pristine condition. LDR: seeing as I’ve never actually had a device repaired here I can’t speak to the quality of the repairs but I can say that the customer service was dismal and let a not to be desired. Also chances are if you get your phone fixed here they’ll do everything in their power not to honor the warranty and try to squeeze more cash out of you. Try looking into U Break I Fix...
Read moreI had a truly awful experience at Techy a few months ago. I went in to get my phone repaired and cleaned, hoping for a quick fix. Instead, they completely failed to do either. Not only did they charge me $30 for services I didn’t receive, but when I asked for a new phone cord, they kept handing me defective ones.
To make matters worse, when I expressed my frustration about the faulty cords and poor cleaning, they escalated the situation and even got in my face and yelled at me! I was livid. The staff seemed completely unprofessional and dismissive, showing no concern for my issue or my feelings as a customer. I felt disrespected and ignored, which is unacceptable in any service industry. This experience was a nightmare, and I can’t stress enough to anyone considering Techy: save yourself the trouble and avoid this place...
Read moreThey tried to scam me. Bought some AirPods here for $90 not knowing they were fake. (wouldn’t connect to my phone, the serial number wasn’t real, when compared to real AirPods there were many differences) When we went to return them, the man behind the counter gladly could do an exchange but, the second we said I wanted to return them he gave many horrible excuses. Once we pointed out how they were fake and put up an argument he scrambled to get my money back. He obviously knew they weren’t real. I’ve had some good experiences with this company in the past and I am honestly very disappointed, we trusted...
