At the register, solar lights that were priced at $2.50 on the shelf rang up for approximately $3.47. When I pointed this out to the cashier and showed her a photo of the price that was on the shelf from my phone, team leaders (?) Alex and Tasha were found. They both told me that they would only honor the sale price for 1 of the lights, but the other 19 would be priced at $3.47. They refused to look at the picture from my phone and also refused to get a manager for me in spite of my request. Tasha's demeanor was angry and intimidating. A different, very kind supervisor, (Monique) attempted to understand why there was a price discrepancy, but as we walked over to the area where the lights were shelved, we were intercepted by Tasha who told Monique that she had already given me the final answer to my inquiry and her answer was the final say. At this point, I left the store in frustration. After many failed attempts to reach the store manager (Debra) by phone and in person, I was finally able to speak with her and an assistant manager (Pinkie) the following day. It was determined that the pricing for the lights was indeed an error and that they should have rung up at the clearance price that was on the shelf. If Tasha or Alex had taken the time to actually LOOK at the shelf pricing, item #s, etc., they probably would have been able to figure this out. But they lacked the ability to provide the customer service that was needed in this situation. The manager generously compensated me by selling me the lights for $1.00 each. Both managers were kind and seemed concerned about the incident that occurred and I appreciated them attempting to compensate me for my trouble by selling the lights at a discount, but the unfortunate incident with the other two employees who were confrontational and unhelpful have left a bad taste in my mouth for this already below average store. On that particular day, due to the frustration and poor customer service I experienced, I left all of my purchases at the register and ended up having to go to a different store to complete my shopping. I really hope that this store will continue to improve their level of customer service and will strive to make shopping a pleasant experience. But that has not been the pattern that we have experienced at this store in the past. Fingers crossed that it improves with better hiring and close attention by the management. Also, the fact that this store does not carry any fresh produce is also a huge problem. It means that although, you can do some of your grocery shopping here, you will inevitably need to stop somewhere else to get it completed if you need any fresh produce. Because of this, it is even more imperative that this store does everything it can to entice shoppers to come there by providing excellent...
Read more2022 ZERO STARS I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. Avoid this Walmart whenever possible still. Typically a poor experience at this particular location. 7-1 at 7:30 a.m. I placed an online order for pickup between 10-11 a.m. At 10:00 a.m. I received an email "your pickup is delayed" (no surprise). Eventually I receive the "you have substitutions" email and one saying it is ready. When I arrived I called the curbside number several times before getting an answer. 9-2 Ordered online (yeah lured by the pricing and purported selection) for pickup 7-8 a.m. No surprise I got an email at 7 a.m. the order is delayed. Around 1:47 p.m. an email for "unavailable" as substitution items. My experience is this location takes orders that are rarely, if ever fulfilled in a timely manner. I arrive and call inside. Maybe 20+ minutes later an agent comes out with my order as well as three others, two of which were for people that drove up after me. Then he used the LIFO (Last In First Out) method to put items in our vehicles. I stopped him from giving me items that belonged to the person that apparently arrived first. I told him I was displeased people that arrived after me received their items before me and my time is valuable. He says, "but you're getting your stuff." I said "You don't get it." I do not blame him, it is management's fault! I guess the trade off for low prices is missed commitments (order never fulfilled in the timeframe selected) and wasted time (waiting while one agent fulfills four orders, and loads other patron's vehicle first although they arrived after you). This Walmart location is consistently a disappointment and if there was a zero option I'd use it. DO BETTER! One agent working curbside pickup on Saturday of Labor Day weekend? Maybe new management is necessary at this location? I will not forget again that the selection is probably not even available so I'll get substitutions; and that it will take much more time than it should. By time I sit there waiting and not really getting what I ordered it is not even worth it. Disappointed again. Why did I go to Walmart? It's been three months thought I'd try it since I'm budgeting, bad idea! ZERO STARS I DO NOT RECOMMEND...
Read moreUpdated review: I had no idea that this Walmart could get any worse, but since DEBRA took over for Lawson, nothing is where it should be, as stated in their store app, and the employees are downright NASTY if you dare ask them for help. And don't expect any more from them than the worst attitude imaginable as they are LAZY. 10x worse than when Lawson ran the store.
*Beware this parking lot. Most dangerous Walmart parking lot I have been in, as apparently, people in Wilmington do NOT understand angled parking, nor looking for pedestrians when they walking in the lot. If you survive that, you will find addicts begging, or watching someone come out of the garden center jumping into a getaway car with security chasing after them.
This Walmart needs to be shut down. Period!
This is the worst Walmart I have ever been in! And that is specifically related to the rudeness and laziness of the employees. This Walmart also treats EVERY customer like they're thieves and create a line at the only exit to check receipts. They even expect you to stand in their absurd line if you haven't even made a purchase. Once I slipped through and got to hear the door woman make nasty comments about me to the next person she was checking. It's not like she has a frisker and it was beyond obvious I had nothing on me...not even a purse OR pockets. When I come to this Walmart, I feel like I am in the twilight zone. I have been to every Walmart in DE and this one is TERRIBLE. They have a full food selection but no produce. Weird. No one EVER looks like they're having a pleasant experience in this place, from the employees to the customers. No one. It's like a dark cloud as soon as you walk in the door. The only reason I enter the building is due to the fact that I am the "taxi cab" for someone who's employment forces them into this awful place.
Walmart can and does do better...at every other store...this place needs to chill out and take a look at how other Walmart's operate. Not sure who runs this one, but they should seek different employment, this ain't the job for them and they make...
