Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Farmers' Market — Local services in Winston-Salem

My 1st visit. Nice, clean, lovely place. Lots of people selling t-shirts and jewelry, and other items, and desserts, but I had to ask where the fresh fruits and veggies were. Someone said, way down at the end there are a few. Slim pickins. I got there after 11 a.m. I'll try again next Saturday early. I am going to the farmers market for fresh fruits and veggies. The signs say... think orange, and talks about peaches. There were zero fruits. I got a bag of amazing salad. A turnip. Tomatoes. Carrots. Cucumbers so small, like pickling cucumbers but good! And, a bag of turnip greens... I washed them and boiled them and couldn't eat them because it felt like, in every bite, there was ground up glass as I ate them. (Must've been dirt?) Something foreign....😂 not edible. Grissly and just could not eat them. I wonder what it was. You don't have to Scrub each leaf do you? I eat greens all the time, never had that happen before. But I get them from the grocery store. I see good reviews, so I'm going early next Saturday. Hopefully it will be great if I get there early. Hopefully, there will be plenty of fruits and veggies. I'm sure, come Aug and Sept.... there will be lots!!!! Thanks for all you do for...

Love love love this place they have so many different options for home grown veggies to cold brew coffee. Clean environment local bathrooms are kept clean. Convenient parking. Happy faces always gives smiling welcoming face upon entering this location. This is my first thing to do on Saturdays. Downer on this is that if you don’t get there early they sale out so fast.
