We've rented from the place across the lake before, but this time decided to try something new. I really wish I would have just rented from the same place I did before... Our allotted time was from 12:00 to 4:00 so we arrived at 11:45 just like it says too. The person running it was on the phone for almost 10 minutes while we stood there waiting. Finally, he got off the phone and explained to us that they didn't have a boat ready because one had broken down. He offered to put us on a tiny boat that literally probably would have sank if all four of us got on it!! We declined and said that we wanted the tritoon boat that we originally rented. He then said that he had another one that he had to go get so we waited longer. 15 minutes later he showed up with another boat and we also had to remind him that we ordered two of the lily pads. After he went and got them we told them one was fine. At 12:15 we finally set out on our way. First impressions- the boat was very beat up and had ripped seats, and we found out really quickly that the lily pad was COVERED in ants and was also ripped. We started out on the bigger lake and as we started to pick up speed the boat motor started jumping. We called and he said we just had to keep the speed lower. Mind you we were going 10 mph which is so slow across all these lakes. Also the bimini was not motorized so we had to continue to put it up and down every time we went under bridges. The cost of this rental was way more than the one across the lake too, and that one had a motorized bimini! We would never come back and rent from CF for more money and a worse experience. We have done several boat outing with Tim and his amazing team and it is top notch and above and beyond in every way! Tim is a patient and very developmentally appropriate in how he teaches children and now she can’t wait to go back! He is also an amazing teacher to adults of all levels. Their pontoons rentals are really beat up cosmetically. The 115hp motor is governed to not go over 3,000 rpm. It also is adjusted so high out of the water it was constantly cavitating. I understand the caution in keeping the prop up as high as possible to prevent a careless renter from grounding the prop. However, the constant cavitation made cruising very uncomfortable and almost not practical. I also can't imagine that's great for the longevity and reliability of the motor. We might as well have had a 40hp motor on the boat. Also the nut for the prop lacked a safety pin...
