All In Adventures Escape Rooms — Local services in Woodbridge Township

(This is based off of the Black Ops room)

I have done a decent amount of escape rooms and on the surface All in Adventures does a lot of things right in my opinion. •The staff was very nice, explained everything and answered all of my stupid questions. •They have test locks in the waiting room to practice on so when you get into the actual room itself you don't waste time trying to figure out how a lock is supposed to open. (not many places have this) •There are lots of time slots was it is easy to walk in, register for a game and be playing quickly. (IIRC they had a new room going every 10 mins) •The room had you physically build a device, it didn't give you any answers to puzzles but it was still an interesting quirk that I don't see in many rooms. •The level system is interesting in that it allows 1 room to cater to both new players and experienced players (players can stop after they have finished level 1 or continue with the remaining level 3 puzzles) •They even have a discount pass that pays for itself after 2 games and gives you a free game after your first 5 (I bought one because I anticipated playing every room they had, I love escape rooms)

However the actual escape room portion of the game is very lackluster. There are other little things but these are the biggest that stuck out to me:

•To start off the rooms are small which isn't a bad thing (I was in a group of 2) but when I realized that the capacity was 10 players I couldn't imagine more then 4 people being in this room comfortably. •The rooms don't have ceilings so you can very easily hear other groups in other rooms which while it wasn't a problem for me I can see this being distracting for some, especially if it is a crowded day. •You don't have a dedicated GM for each game (consequence of having many time slots) and I can live with that but the Hint system involves one of the workers physically coming in to give you a hint which breaks immersion and is something I have not seen in any other escape room. Although I will say the Hints are more nudges in the right direction instead of direct answers so I admire that greatly. •The puzzles are more a scavenger hunt then actual puzzles, you get a clue card, you find the info somewhere in the room and input that code into a lock, rinse repeat. Also the whole room is analog no electronics or sensors only locks and codes, which isn't bad but compared to other rooms it seems very basic. •There are no "Aha!" or "Ooohhh" moments in this game, you do get moments of joy/relief when you finally find the answer but you wont be telling any stories to your friends of how you overcame a complex series of puzzles.

Overall All in Adventures is a very friendly environment but gameplay wise is very basic, and suffers from outdated game design choices.

I will probably try another room because maybe I just chose the wrong room and I will edit this review if I did, but I feel as though I will not be completing my passport...

We’ve now completed every single room at this escape room location, and we can honestly say it’s been one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! From start to finish, the staff here make you feel welcome, supported, and genuinely excited to play.

Outstanding Staff—Special Thanks to Audrey! We’ve met a good chunk of the staff over our visits, and everyone has been consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. A special shoutout to Audrey—she was absolutely amazing! She took care of us for an entire day as we did five rooms back to back, making sure we were comfortable, having fun, and always ready for the next challenge. Her energy and enthusiasm made our marathon escape day truly unforgettable.

Clean, Well-Run, and Affordable The facility itself is spotless and well-maintained. You can tell the team takes pride in keeping everything clean and organized, which makes a huge difference in the overall experience. Booking is straightforward, and the staff are always happy to help with any questions or changes.

The pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the rooms and the service. They even offer a yearly pass that lets you do all of their rooms—either spread out over time or, like us, all in one epic day! We highly recommend the pass; it’s affordable and gives you the flexibility to enjoy every room at your own pace.

Clever Rooms and Helpful Hints The rooms themselves are a perfect mix of clever, challenging, and fun. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned escape artist, you’ll find puzzles that make you think without feeling impossible. Whenever we needed a hint, the staff were quick, clear, and never gave too much away—just enough to keep us moving forward.

Great for Groups and Parties They have rooms big enough for parties, and the staff go out of their way to accommodate groups of all sizes. Whether it’s a special occasion or just a fun night out, they make sure everyone has a great time.

Memorable Photos and Keepsakes One of our favorite touches is the post-room photo session. After every escape, you get to choose from about eight different green screen backgrounds for your team photo, and they have fun signs to hold up. It’s a creative and memorable way to capture the moment and look back on your adventure.

A Special Place for Us We visited before our honeymoon and again during our honeymoon, and both times were absolutely perfect. These escape rooms have become a special part of our story, and we can’t wait to come back again.

If you’re looking for a place that’s clean, affordable, creative, and staffed by genuinely wonderful people (especially Audrey!), look no further. We can’t recommend this escape room...

I visited this location on Sunday, the 29 of December with a group of six (two adults, two teenagers, and two twelve year olds). We did the Houdini Magic Escape and finished the harder difficulty with about 13 minutes to spare. Although I enjoyed the room, I did have a few complaints.

First of all, unlike other escape rooms, you only get 50 minutes to finish the room. Second of all, the clues were not well integrated with the room. All of the clues consisted of scraps of paper with hints related to items and pictures in the room. There was no use of props and non-textual clues to solve puzzles (although there were some nice props). Third of all, there were none of the technological tricks and hidden rooms that I appreciate very much in other escape rooms. The room just felt like sitting in a room and solving puzzles one after another. There was very little immersion. Finally, the room was too small for more than four or five people to comfortably work together without getting in each others way. It books for up to eight people.

For these reasons, I believe that the $25 asking price is a bit high. It may have been better with the Groupon rate, but that was not available on the date I went.

However, I do want to reinforce that I did enjoy this room and would recommend it to others; however, I would suggest that they go on a day when they can take advantage of the Groupon rate and pay what is in my opinion a fairer price.

One other quip that I had with this location was that the receptionist was not willing to recommend a room to me. At other Escape Room location, I often call up and ask the people who work there, who are usually escape room aficionados themselves, which room they would recommend. Usually, they have done all of their own rooms and have one or two that they can recommend for someone looking for an enjoyable challenge. At All in Adventures, the receptionist refused to recommend a room, claiming that she did not want to "influence" my choice of rooms or choose for me; she did not realize that that is precisely what I wanted. I do not have the time and money to try every one room in AIA, so I want to do the "best" room...
