DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE â A Heartbreaking and Horrifying Experience. I normally do not write reviews, but what my daughter and I experienced at Childrenâs World Academy absolutely demands attention. Iâm writing this to help protect other families from making the same mistake I did by trusting this place with my childâs well-being. From the very beginning, the experience was disorganized and distressing. I was constantly receiving calls about my daughterâs behavior and development, but never once did they offer meaningful support or guidance. Instead of working with me collaboratively, it felt like they were pushing blame on a child who wasnât even three years old yet. My daughter, who is almost three, was kept in a room designed for children who had just turned two. When I questioned why she hadnât transitioned into the appropriate age group, I was told they didnât have enough staff â as if that was an acceptable excuse to delay my childâs growth and development. The daily reports I received were often blank or barely filled out, usually saying nothing more than she used the bathroom once at 9 a.m. How is that a sufficient summary of a childâs entire day? Most days, I was greeted by someone completely new â someone who had no idea how my daughterâs day went or who had even interacted with her. Whatâs worse, the center would randomly call or email me during work hours, sometimes asking me to come pick up my child at 10 a.m. because they didnât have enough staff to maintain state-required ratios. As a working parent, this is a nightmare â scrambling at the last minute because the center canât even fulfill basic legal staffing obligations. Things only escalated from there. One day, the director casually told me she believed my daughter had a sensory disorder or muscle development issue â which was not only completely inaccurate but totally inappropriate coming from someone with no professional qualifications to make such assessments. My daughter is perfectly fine; the real issue is that the environment she was in lacked all structure, routine, and meaningful engagement. The children are left to run around all day with no purposeful activities. They are bored, unstimulated, and clearly not properly cared for. The final straw was when my daughter â out of clear distress â reached into her diaper, smeared feces on the bookshelf, and no one noticed until after the fact. I was told this âwasnât the staffâs fault,â even though there were two teachers in a room with just five children. How can that possibly be justified? If children are so poorly supervised that something like this can happen, thatâs more than unacceptable â itâs dangerous and traumatic. AS SOMEONE WHO USE TO WORK HERE at this daycare many years ago, it is beyond disheartening to see how far the quality and integrity have fallen. The current director is overwhelmed and clueless, sheâs often stuck in the infant room because theyâre so understaffed, she canât even be present to manage the facility. She waited weeks to tell me that my daughter had been spitting something that should have been addressed immediately and with care, not swept under the rug. The decline in my daughterâs behavior during her time here was dramatic and heartbreaking. She was anxious, uncharacteristically aggressive, and clearly unhappy. All of this because of the chaotic, neglectful environment and poor management at this center. When I finally called the assistant under the owner, Ankim, to share my deep concerns, she sighed and told me, âI completely understand, thereâs no excuse for thisâ... yet nothing changed. No action was taken, no apology was made, and no one seemed to care. This place is a disgrace. I wouldnât wish this experience on any family. Please for the sake of your childâs safety, development, and emotional well-being.. look elsewhere. Childrenâs World Academy is not just failing children ..theyâre actively harming them through neglect, poor management, and unacceptable...
Read moreVery very poor child care. I shouldâve known from the moment I visited the school to see if Iâd want to enroll my daughter. I didnât get that vibe from them that they care nor were they friendly. Not one of the teachers or staff looked my way or smiled when I was getting the tour of the school. They just went about their business like they clearly donât care the impression they made. Still, I decided to enroll my daughter there because of all the false promises and selling points the director told me that day. She was enrolled for two months before I pulled her. And I wouldâve pulled her after the first month if I could find another daycare that had availability. There were a bunch of things I noticed while she was there The teachers do not tend to the kids. They are mostly on their phones or just sit there and let the kids play on their own. They also donât help the kids eat or feed them. My daughter was 19 months when she started with them. I told them she canât feed herself with a spoon so on days when they get cereal for breakfast she will need help with that. Iâd literally sit there and watch the camera and watch as the teacher placed milk and cereal infront my daughter and then sat there and watched her struggle with the spoon for like 10 mins, and then when my daughter got tired of struggling with the spoon. She gave up and literally stuck her hand in the bowl and ate milk and cereal for an hr with her hands. No help from the teacher They lie and place blame on the kids for any little thing rather than just take accountability like an adult. I caught them in so many lies that I canât even count. Itâs like they donât care that there is camera access and that parents are watching because theyâre still gonna do what they do and lie about things that were clearly seen on the camera.
Itâs dirty. The floors, mats that the kids play on. No structure. No curriculum. Itâs more of a baby sitter than daycare. No communication what so ever. The director knows nothing.and then I believe she quit or left because I stopped seeing her after the first month.
Overall, if you want quality child care where your feel comfortable and like family and can completely trust to take proper care of your child, this is...
Read moreIf I could give this school a higher rating than a "five" I would. My Niece attended this school since infancy and had the experience of traveling through every classroom until August of 2017 when she left to enter the public school Pre-K in her hometown. Miss Tanesha and Miss Erika were her main teachers during her last year and a half at the school and what she learned from them is beyond comparable to any other school. At just 3 years old, she knew how to write her name, recognized ALL of her letters, numbers and shapes, and even knew the sounds the letters made. The curriculum is a proprietary curriculum where teachers write their own lesson plans based on the weekly theme. Each week, the children learn a new letter, number, shape, and color. A set of School Zone workbooks is assigned to each individual child where the teacher sits down with the students in a very small group to individualize the educational aspect of the instruction. My only regret I have is that she wasn't able to spend her Prek and Kindergarten years with Miss Melissa, Miss Debbie, and Mrs. Mundy, because they are phenomenal teachers. Between the education she received, the fun she had, the friends she made, and the love and care she received I can honestly vouch that this really is a fantastic school and is truly second to none. In addition to all of the teachers mentioned above, there are some other teachers that also made a lasting impression on my Niece. Miss Elyssa, Miss Febe, Miss Brianna, and Miss Lauren are sweet, nurturing, caring, and loving. They really love the work they do and I can honestly say that they all LOVE what they do!
Miss Katie is the face of this school and greets every family and every child with a huge smile and positive attitude no matter what is happening behind the scenes at that moment. She makes every single person feel right at home when they walk through that front door.
This isn't a job for the staff employed at Children's World Academy. This is their home and their second family.
I honestly encourage everyone that reads this to see for yourself. Take a tour, meet the teachers, meet Miss Katie, and come up with your own opinion on why this school is the best out there...
