Manyavar — Local services in Woodbridge Township

Echoing other negative reviews where the staff was impatient, dismissive and unhelpful. My group of 5 and I arrived on 1/27 looking for groomsmen outfits. We asked the staff to look at several kurtas but they were resistant to showing us anything without first knowing the sizes. We explained that we were shopping for 4 people (not present) whose sizes were S,M,L,XL and had 4 months until the wedding. We could wait to have the sizes we wanted ordered from India. With everything we asked to look at, we were asked about sizes again. He kept going on about not having sizes in stock and needing to order from India which we explained repeatedly was fine. Getting to see anything off of the shelf was like pulling teeth. Then he asked another staff member in Hindi to “make us understand.” When I asked to write down the sku for one shirt the attendant went on another rant about not taking pictures. I explained that I was looking to write down the label information in order to place an order over the phone if necessary but he continued making circular statements about no picture but FaceTime is ok, or they would write down my name and number and the sku I was interested in in their logs.

Don’t buy anything from this place. They don’t stand by their products. I placed an order for four men’s kurtas and I had to pay for them first. 3 of them did not fit because they could not get them over their shoulders even though the chest size was correct. But because I didn’t come back within 15 days due to Covid they would not exchange for larger sizes. There are plenty of other good stores. Avoid this one.

I'm adding this after your response to my review. I picked up these items in March and then YOUR store was closed due to COVID. I called your "fashion manager' plenty of times but she would not order the larger size due to the fact that it had been more than 30 days. I could not come to your store until I was fully vaccinated to talk to you due to health reasons. These were defective products. The chest sizes were correct but they could not get over their shoulders.. And your response Mr. Owner was not appropriate. An owner can always do something and compromise with their customers but people should know that you will not compromise even if the product may be defective. You could have offered something but your excuse about not being able to put in into your system was the worst excuse I've ever heard. Don't shop...

I came to shop for groom clothes for my best friend here. Every person in the shop is unwelcoming except one person in a crew of 6 people. The manager is the rudest of them all and takes all measures possible to provide the worst shopping experience. My experience with Manyavar in other shops has been exquisite but if I had come to this store in Edison for the first time at Manyavar then I would have hated the brand and would never go there. However, this is the only store of Manyavar that made me feel very unwelcomed and the Manager would swear in front of me in Gujarati when I asked anything. If you want to feel how poorest of customer service can be then this is a must visit place. Everytime I wanted to try something, the entire crew made us feel guilty. I am a very considerate shopper but this place tested my patience to hilt.

Edit in response: When we were told to comply with the policy to not take pictures. We complied and didn't take out our phone for photo again, while we were in the shop.
