I generally like the proprietors of this place, they're nice people just trying to make a living. Have you ever heard of a chop-shop for automobiles and tractor/farm equipment? If you grew up in Oxford PA or watched the movie "At Close Range" with Chrisopher Walken and Sean Penn you'll know what I am talking about. Imagine if chop-shops had a store-front, then you can imagine what this place looks like for electronics. Another appropriate analogy, someone made their hoarding turn a profit. If you've watched "Hoarding: Buried Alive", you'll recognize the treacherous stacks of electronics all throughout the store. Now what do we know about hoarders? They have a hard time parting from their stuff, even trash sometimes. Imagine if the hoarder was putting prices on things, then you'll know what kind of prices you'll encounter here, ridiculous! Many of the items can be found through eBay or Amazon for cheaper prices with shipping included. That said, you'll also find some rare items here you can't find anywhere else. In addition, you can haggle over prices, all transactions are a negotiation or you're paying premium costs for an as-is computer part manufacturered in the late 1990s. Please don't expect mechanical systems to fare well after sitting a decade since last operating. One of the issues I have is some days I am not in the mood to haggle over prices, I walk away with nothing generally. All-in-all, I have a generally positive view of the store and owners, but buyer beware these items are as-is and can stop working an hour after leaving the store; furthermore, Susie is tough and hardened, and she's used to people walking out with nothing. That explains why she has a warehouse too. Her business will make every MBA scratch their head, especially since excess stock taking up space for 10 years is...
Read moreThe store itself has or can get you almost anything that you may want so no complaints there. Over the years Ii have been going I have had the pleasure of working with a gentilman to whom I could not of come up with but I would say indeed a gentilman of the highest degree of just being that..a perfect gentilman. Great salesman and very knowledgeable about the electronics he helps either fix or sells. James,as he first name states has been such a good and very knowledgeable friend to me that I consider him no less then blood relative. He makes l and y a desirable place to shop...and I have noticed at least for myself that I feel better when he is there to ask questions because he is also a truly an honest man. As I am getting ready to close this comment out I will say these few words. James you are a man out of time and I personally think you would make a great musketeer if indeed we were back then....or even now. May you be blessed in any direction the future holds for...
Read moreGreat work and great service. I trusted them with a complex and delicate gaming laptop repair job that required a lot of expertise and careful disassembly, and L&Y went above and beyond.
The repair went perfectly and they provided multiple pictures of the laptop interior before and after which demonstrated to me they take pride in their work. They also put a lot of fine touches into this repair that genuinely impressed me. The price quoted was also very fair.
Before going to L&Y I saw what other reviewers had said about the technician Matt and they are absolutely right Matt is awesome.
I'm a computer nerd and I'd absolutely recommend...
