Dollar Hobbyz — Local services in Woodbury

To preface this, I have never once written a bad review for any company EVER. However, I scheduled my 8 year old’s birthday party a month ago for this weekend. I talked to two separate individuals and confirmed with both the time and date. Since it is coming up on Saturday I called to confirm that pizza would be provided and I shouldn’t have to bring any… when the guy on the phone said there was no reservation for us. I told him there must be a mistake because I had talked to two people about it- one in store and one on the phone. He said “nope, it’s not here. We have gone through some employees so it probably got lost.” He said “I can fit you in at 2 though”. I told him the party is 5 days away and invitations have been out for weeks. I can’t switch the time now. I tell him that I’m super upset… He then tells me that “ THE WEATHER WILL BE NICE ON SATURDAY. BOYS SHOULD BE PLAYING OUTSIDE ANYWAY IN MY OPINION.” I have never been so angry. Never once did he apologize. Never once did he ask if we could figure out something else. He just told me that I had to cancel my 8 year olds birthday party and figure out something else within five days. He was such an incredibly rude man that I advise anyone and everyone to avoid this establishment. And certainly don’t schedule a party there… unless you’re willing to scramble last minute and try to figure something else out. Really, people should be spending their time...

My wife and each ordered a battery and charger by mistake ( I thought I was to order it, and she thought she was... it happens) We tried to cancel the shipment (18 hours before it said it shipped) but they refused. We didn't mind much, and figured that we'd just return it. Both arrived and I immediately took one and placed it directly into a box in order to ship it back.

They never responded and had to be messaged in order to get an update. They claimed that they could not receive it and refund because it showed signs of use. They included some photos that showed literally nothing.... They would not budge so I finally asked to at least have the product so I could sell it since they now had both the product and my money. They sent it back, and I confirmed that both products show 0 signs of use. In fact the batter is still sealed. I will never give DollarHobbyz another cent... If you are in the twin cities I'd suggest 'HubHobby' They are wonderfully helpful, and once heard about the situation offered to buy my spare charger and battery for...

First of all, I rarely ever write reviews. However, we hired Dollar Hobbyz to create a racetrack for an outdoor surprise family birthday party after seeing their display at the state fair. Our party was, to my understanding, the first time they had done this exact type of event. They brought the racetrack pieces to our house, set up in the street, and had all of the cars anybody could want to drive. I was not sure what to expect, but I had high hopes that it would be cool.

It was awesome. The customer service and communication prior to the event was impeccable. The track set up and running of the event couldn't have gone more smoothly. The staff were friendly and humored a large number of preschoolers who wanted to help with setup. It was a huge hit at the event itself. From the little kids to the adults, everyone had a blast driving the cars. There are no notes and nothing to improve from the experience. I would recommend this type of event from Dollar Hobbyz to anyone who...
