Floor & Decor — Local services in Woodbury

I’m in the midst of a big kitchen renovation and it’s been quite overwhelming. However, shopping at Floor and Decor in Woodbury has been such a pleasant experience compared to a lot of the other big box stores I’ve been going to. I saw a backsplash tile that caught my eyes on Pinterest and saw that the author purchased it from Floor and Decor. I went there on Friday to go look at them but there weren’t enough tiles for my project on the floor even though their system said there were more in stock. I ended up buying 6 pieces as samples. While I was there, an associate named Min said that she would try to locate the rest of the inventory for me and call me the next day if she was able to. The next day she indeed called me and said she was able to locate 99 pieces but someone ended up purchasing the other 2 boxes that were on the floor the night before. I was still short on the pieces I needed to do my project but I decided that since the price was $1.59/ tile in store versus $1.69/piece online I went ahead and picked up the 99 pieces that Min went ahead and held for me in the back. When I went to pick up the tiles I wasn’t sure how to go about getting the additional 58 pieces I still needed to complete my project. The manager RJ was there and was able to see that they already had some inventory of the tiles in transit to the store but he just didn’t know when it would arrive. He reassured me that if I placed the order with him in the store versus buying online then he could promise that I’d get my tiles within the next two weeks at the latest, which was important because of my reno timeline (that was Saturday).Sure enough, come Monday I got a text notifying me that the tiles came in and I could pick them up. I went to the store and picked up the tiles. Min was there and greeted me by name- how awesome is that! Nate greeted me at the command desk, and both Nate and Darien were quick to help process my pick up. Nate and Darien also put bubble wrap in the second box of tiles to ensure my tiles would not break. I noticed on the receipt I was charged $1.69/tile instead of the $1.59. Nate was really helpful in contacting the mngr and assisting in making sure I got refunded for the price difference. I really appreciate everyone who helped me through this whole experience. It made the biggest difference and made it a positive and pleasant experience when it could have gone the other way. They went above and beyond and exceeded my customer service expectations, especially Min, RJ, Nate, and Darien! My contractor recommended that I go to Floor and Decor in Woodbury for supplies for tiling my bathroom floor and shower (I wanted to provide the supplies so I could save on materials where I was able). I had been having trouble deciding on the shower tile and design/pattern for MONTHS.

As I walked through Floor and Decor’s doors, I was immediately greeted by friendly employees. Ernest (?) offered to assist me since I wasn’t sure where anything was or what exactly I was looking for. All I knew was I had a color scheme I was looking for and I wanted 12”x24” tile and a mosaic accent strip. I had a list of supplies to get from my contractor.

Ernest was awesome! He helped me find everything on my list. I explained the colors I was looked for (as best as I could)(essentially a very light greige color). Within minutes he found exactly what I was looking for! The mosaic was a bit more challenging but he was very patient and took the time to help me find the perfect mosaic accent. He also took into consideration that I was on a tight budget. He helped me find quality items within my price range. Throughout my shopping experience he kept a running total/quote for me so I knew I was staying within budget. After we found everything I needed, he had me pay and pull my car up. He and a few other employees got everything together and carefully loaded into my car. I barely had to do anything.

I wish I had known about Floor and Decor sooner. After months of struggling, they helped me figure out a design/plan and get all the supplies and load it into my car within 2 hours!

The only area of improvement was I needed only 13-14 square feet of the mosaic tile. I didn’t notice until I got home that they sold me 22 square feet of mosaic tile. He must have forgotten to take a prior measurement for a different tile off the quote (we had been playing around with different designs). This was roughly $160 extra. But with their return policy I am able to return the extra tile. So it isn’t too big of a deal.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Floor and Decor. I highly recommend!

Had a good experience going to the store and picking out flooring and getting talked into warranty on the flooring (Nucore vinyl plank) and spending over 6 grand on flooring. But Within the first year of it being professionally installed the flooring failed. (Cracks, cupping, completely broken in some spots). This flooring has a supposedly 25 year residential warranty and 15 year commercial. From the very start of trying to do a claim this has been a NIGHTMARE!! This company will not take accountability for any of it. After I sent in the claim they emailed and called me to tell me that because I didn’t contact them as soon as the first little sign of damage was done my warranty is void. And also said they think it’s the installers fault. I’ve never seen a floor fail this bad! I should have went with products from Home Depot or Menards (which was way cheaper). I have tried stating my disappointment many times and they don’t care. They said I can hire an inspector to come out and tell me there is damage but it’s not going to matter because of the 30 day discovery policy. Stay away from the company!!
