Dallas Caramel Company — Local services in Wylie

So I've been familiar with this company for a while because my dad will buy their caramels for special occasions, so I know the product is amazing! But unfortunately I had a disappointing experience when I placed my own order earlier this week. I live just outside Fort Worth so I felt I was just close enough to justify driving out for pickup instead of paying for shipping. I got an email saying their hours were 9-5 Monday-Friday and I was not asked for a specific pick-up time. So imagine my disappointment when I get there at 3:30 on Friday after driving for over an hour and they were closed!! If they had called and warned me they were closing early I would have found a way to get there earlier. Thankfully the email I sent got a prompt response agreeing to refund my order. I still think the caramels are very good and now that I've calmed down and feel the issue was resolved well, I won't outright recommend against ordering from them, but even if you live in the DFW area, it might be worth it to just pay to have it shipped, especially if your work schedule would make it hard to get there early in...

So disappointing, I purchased $56 worth of these at a specialty gift shop, some as gifts and some for myself. I chose a tube of tumbleweeds, a tube of armadillos and a mixed caramel bag. Had there been samples I never would have purchased them. They are not a nice smooth creamy caramel like I expected, they are almost grainy in texture. They don't even seem to have a nice caramel flavor. The armadillos are part chocolate and that wasn't even good, almost waxy. Such a huge disappointment, I never treat myself and these were a huge splurge since they were so costly, I thought they must be exceptional. They are not good. OMG! These are the BEST caramel candies EVER. So smooth, deliciously cream and sweet and ADDICTIVE. My favorite flavor is the MARSHMALLOW. I've already ordered a pound, about to order another. Yes, they are a little bit pricey but they are oh so worth it. If that were not enough, they come with a nice personalize note from the owners.
