I had a very mixed experience here but won't be going back.
I came on a Monday night so the restaurant was steady but not bustling. Our server immediately took our drink and food order but then disappeared for 30 min after our food arrived. We didn't see her again until we flagged her down for the bill after she forgot our drink refills. I really enjoy the sushi dining experience and this was the fastest I was out of a restaurant in years.
The food was a mixed bag. The Negi toro I had was so fishy I had worried it had turned so I couldn't eat the second piece. The O toro had multiple tendons running through it and the little fish I did have didn't melt in my mouth like fatty tuna should. I gave up battling the tuna and chose not to struggle with what was left of my piece and the second piece. However the salmon was fresh and delicious! It was definitely the star of the night. The rolls were generous and there were so many combos to choose from even though the flavors weren't unique or memorable.
The atmosphere was nice with soft lighting and clean, modern aesthetics but again, not distinctive.
I'll give any restaurant with potential a second chance but I'll never risk eating less than...
Read moreUPDATE from the day after: We took home what we didn't finish - meat and noodles - and my daughter decided to eat them. Yikes, the poor girl spent the night with a far worse case of Montezuma's Revenge than I experienced. No amount of pleasantries from the very nice staff makes up for food poisoning. Downgrading to the lowest possible rating.
Looking at the reviews, maybe they should get rid of everything except sushi. Seems that's the only thing that draws good reviews. Service was great; so that's the highlight.
Two big tells: 1) Friday night and it's half full; 2) Waitress asks my wife if she wants her salmon rare, medium, or well-done... Fish?
She says the chef should cook the fish as he believes it should be. I order my steak hibachi medium rare. Doesn't matter; everything came out extra well done.
Noodles and rice together? Serve one or the other, not both. Rice was okay, noodles not so much. We paid, headed home, and now... thirty minutes later... I'm writing this review on the porcelain throne. Pretty sure there's a...
Read moreFirst time to visit the place. We started with Bluefin calamari. I had Ahi Tower, my son got the Bulgogi bowl and husband was excalibur. Very nice presentation. Everything good. Service was really fast and the place and atmosphere was pleasant. Friendly people too. Definitely my new favorite restaurant coz I love Japanese food. Price is reasonable too. Highly recommend. You’ll be impressed. 01Dec24 - came back with my family for a birthday celebration. We all ordered different dishes. We started with shrimp tempura whilecwe wait for others, highly recommend appetizer. Their bento boxes are not served in a tradional bento box but in a huge japanese tray - very delicious. You should order them, it won’t disappoint. Chicken hibachi, Galbi, bulgogi and tonkatsu meats were vere tender and flavorful. Fish slices of the sashimi combo were bigger than other restaurants. The crew were very friendly and keeps checking for refills. Highly recommended esp for group...
