A local review of Parry Jewelers, based upon my experience with them as well as an incident that took place this afternoon at thir establishment. Since I cannot get the review to work on their page, I am making this Public posting.
PARRY JEWELERS:
I have spent a considerable about of time buying silver at cost through my connection in downtown Yakima and I walk it in the heat of the day over to Parry Jewelers at a TWENTY PERCENT loss. I do this because I believe in using and moving silver around to try and encourage others to do the same and I also believe that it helps manifest several changes in the markets. I've personally seen this take place. I even bought a gold 14K ring with diamonds for $120 the other day at a local antique store and sold it for $32 to them. I do this because of my reasons and because I like to find unique ways to support and impact my local businesses and community. Today, I went in to Parry and a Hispanic woman with whom I have dealt with before attempted to assist me. Sometimes I do not bring a whole lot to them, however my business is very important regardless of what the person personally thinks about me. This woman destroyed my relationship with Parry Jewelers and she didn't even care. She turned her back to me when I was trying to negotiate her coming up from her $2.55 price she offered on some simple silver scrap. I said, I really need you to come up 45¢ and meet me at $3.00. She refused. This was unwise. I have a Texas Instruments TI-404 watch I brought in almost two weeks ago for battery replacement. TWO WEEKS AGO. I eventually came in and told them the battery to use because I saw them with my watch on their work bench, all torn apart and they were trying to DANGEROUSLY put larger, incorrect batteries into the watch. I did NOT ask them to disassemble the piece. Very disappointing. I guarantee that they have spent WAY MORE than 45¢ alone on labor, trying to figure out battery replacement on a piece of which they have no working knowledge.
(I took the Old Chicago Watch Making series from the 1930's, so I have a bit of experience on temporal engines. Battery / Quartz watches are much simplier.)
The woman employee was VERY rude and made it explicitly clear to me that I am not important, my feelings on the matter were not important and that she had no intention of helping me. By extension, this must obviously include her peers and colleagues at Parry Jeweler's. These people are also my NEIGHBORS. I will be letting EVERYONE know, and I mean everyone. I'm known for my intelligence and speech.... I am also well known and respected in this town. WHY should I ever do business with you ever again? It's devistating for me to go from being addressed BY NAME each time I come in and deal with the owner or the supervisor. I worked VERY hard to earn that recognition. Part of that recognition came about by my near daily interactions I have had with them.
How about you gather up all the silver and gold I have sold to you at a NEIGHBOR'S bargain price to you and give it to me for the TWENTY PERCENT alone that you gain from my generosity in attempting to form a strong, working relationship. Oh, that's right....the world doesn't work that way. How many people do you think will see this review and go elsewhere?
Just so we are clear, this is over 45¢ and RESPECT.
I certify under penalty of perjury the above is true and accurate.

Read moreTook my out-of-town family around for a fun day of shopping. You cannot skip Westpark! Inklings alone is a couple of hours. While they are a bookstore, they have so many other offerings. We laughed...we had a great time, and walked out with all sorts of excellent gifts.
Then we walked over to the English Country Garden, always a must for those who love to cook/bake. This is a definite go-to for hostess gifts...napkins, placemats, tea towels, candles...oh! my! They also have a baby section and some very nice women's clothing.
We then popped over to the Pet Pantry, which as a local, is a staple. They offer nail trimming, and you can bathe your pet there. But, they also offer up some of the cutest pet gifts and goodies!
Lastly, but never last by any means, we stopped into Gasparetti's Floral. Of course, we had to pet the cats, but we picked up flowers for our evening dinner party. Beautiful and...
Read moreThe two stores I shop at in this shopping center are subway and Walgreens. There is nothing bad I can say about either place. Both have great employees who will great you with a smile. At Walgreens if u purchase an item and you don't know there's a coupon for it the cashier will alert you and use it towards your purchase. The sales at Walgreens are awesome!!! I get my prescriptions at Walgreens and they always tell me how long it will be to fill them so I can decide to wait for them or come back. Walgreens even gives you points on certain things you buy so you can earn points to get money back on certain purchases at a later time. The other day I was even at Subway and their lids are very hard to get on their cups. The manager offered to help me and we sat there for about 20 mins trying to get the darn thing on. I thought that was going above the extra mile for their customers and I...
