I would give 0 stars not to the staff or selection, but to the woman owner! This woman is not simply rude but outright certifiable. She is infuriated by the fact that I spend about $20 a day in her shop! I have been going to sweet Josie’s for years, for the fudge, which is excellent. It is made from a mix from Calico Cottage. So she can take very little credit on that count. This type fudge is by far my favorite which is why I haven’t been going elsewhere. However I finally found a place that uses Calico cottage, to make their fudge. So I will not be returning to sweet Josie’s. This summer alone I have spent $450 on fudge in her shop. Over the course of two trips to York.(yes this is a weird habit, but I am in the fitness field, and am very strict the rest of the year. Very few vises, and like to go all out. I do the same thing when I visit the Delaware beaches) She accused me of stalking her, and told her employees that I was in love with her. which got back to me. Who does that to costumers? This is laughable, what is to be in love with anyway? Her winning personality? When I enter the shop, I have always been overly polite , as well as quick to leave, sensing her hostility. She also seems to hate kids, chases them and yells at them. As well, she has tried to bully other businesses. She is infamous. If you want a story to tell for the rest of your life, go here. If you want to be treated like a human being. Go elsewhere. The Candy Corner, the Kittery Trading Post, or the Goldenrod would be my suggestion. My family and I visited Sweet Josie’s today and from the moment I walked in, I felt inconvenient and unwelcome. The women who was clearly running store was not friendly and it was confusion for many. Usually at candy stores with many containers to scoop from, there are bags to grab and start filling to pay by the pound. It was clear it’s $14.99/pound but no bags to be found. I asked another customer and they replied, “You get the bags at the counter; she has rules”. No problem having bags at the counter but there were no signs except for price and no direction. Honestly, bad feelings going in and bad feelings going out, along with other patrons.

I did feel the need to write a review so others know what to expect before going in. There are zero bags out on the floor and absolutely no sign that says anything about bags. There 100% was a woman working yesterday, 8/6/2024 around 1pm so I’m not sure why you say there was no woman. Your camera footage must have seen the brown haired woman standing directly in front of the fudge behind the counter. There was also a young woman and a couple young boys near ice cream. We were specifically told the adults have to scoop. Maybe just a small sign inside with bags could be helpful for potential customers so they don’t have to wait in a long line to get them at the counter. I...
