Be 1000% certain before you buy. The second you walk out the door, if there's a problem, you're on your own. Be aware that you may not return any item that doesn't end up working out for you. These hats are incredibly expensive, so caveat emptor. Once you buy, it's yours. They break eye contact and move on. Very disappointed in this company.

Edit after response from the owner (see below). I stand by my previous comments and have now reduced my rating to one star from two. The return policy is for the online store and the reasoning (which maybe makes sense for an online store) is that the hats are custom made for each customer. In my case, I walked in the shop off the street and bought it off the rack. This was not a custom made hat. I wore it for less than 15 minutes and when I discovered it was not going to meet my needs, I was denied the opportunity to return the "off the rack" hat. I was NOT an online buyer, and as such had no clue that this company did not allow returns. I would never have purchased this hat had I known that was the store's policy. I mean, who doesn't allow returns (even on a case by case basis)? Absurd. The most important point is that I'm a local. A neighbor. If this is how you treat neighbors, how do you treat customers that you don't have to look in the eye? And I'm not sure what you meant about your Spanish accents. Your English is exceptional. I certainly hope you aren't suggesting that I'm racist because I'm unhappy with your store. I'm greatly offended by that nonsense...

Bought two hats, one was great, the other was impossibly small.

Customer service admitted they don't actually check the sizes of hats.

Update: after two months they have FINALLY agreed to send me a box to return one hat. They have made absolutely zero effort to fix their issue. You're spending $200 on a hat, how hard is it to check the size? Seriously, Skip these people. Hard pass.

I just had a wonderful experience. I live in the neighborhood and was going to the market next door when I thought I would just take a peek inside Montecristi. It was a wonderful experience and I walked away with a lovely panama hat that I felt proud to own. Carolina cheerfully walked me through the pros and cons of various hats until I was happy with the one I chose and confident that it looked good on me. I highly recommend Montecristi--even if you are not in the market for a hat it is a wonderful place...
