Handwritten Wines — Attraction in Yountville

We signed up in August 2021. Unfortunately, our allocation wasn’t available until October. We returned with a few friends the following month to experience wine tasting with cheese and bread. After we purchased a bottle of dessert wine. We asked about our 6 bottles allocation. But, it wasn’t available until October.

I called in today 12/10/21 and spoke with AMY to schedule a reservation and I asked about when should I pick up our allocation and she said” You already picked it up” I had to ask if they can research it further and you can tell she couldn’t careless or that you weren’t telling the truth. She had no customer service skills at all it was pretty much a YES or NO conversation. She called back and apologize that they made a mistake in marking that I already picked up the bottles. Well, now I was already MAD and can be careless about the bottles. I asked for a full refund and you can tell she was just delighted to refund and careless about your experience! It’s sad someone represents them in a way they don't care about their members.

Too bad it was a nice place and wine was not bad but Amy just left a very bad aftertaste. If only she had approached a lot more differently rather than making you feel you’re just a membership. Goodbye Handwritten you won't see us ever again and maybe it doesn't matter to you but...

By far one of the worse tasting experiences I have ever had. It was a rainy day and after finishing up our tasting at alpha mega we were referred to handwritten. We walked in and Amy was the most unwelcoming person I have ever encountered. We were with our 5 year old and although the place was completely empty we were told the only place we can sit was outside in the rain. “Every table inside was booked” But she would be more than happy to have the heater turned on if we decided to stay outside. I entertained the idea and she was bothered that I agreed to stay. My husband walked out. Another host felt so bad she offered to give us a bottle of wine on the house. I of course refused and we left. I would never recommend this...

The Bread and Butter Tasting Experience at Handwritten is one of a kind. The pairings are unique, delicious and thoughtful and the wines were exceptional. To be able to taste back vintages of their Pinot Noir and Cabernet was truly a delight - I did not know I would get to taste wines from 2011 when I booked the experience. I also really loved their Champagne and there are additional options for white wine drinkers, plus an array of reds that they can pull from. The hospitality was great too, Evan was attentive, knowledgeable, and funny! I brought my friends from LA here and they were super impressed. Definitely recommend this experience. Close to Ad Hoc, recommend them for dinner afterwards. ...
