Party Land — Local services in Yuba City

I had to leave one star in order to write this review. Do not come here. They have no customer service what so ever. They are very disrespectful and do not go over rental terms and conditions when renting products. We rented a helium tank from them, without leaving the parking lot we came back into the store to return and the lady told us we could not return. (Had not even been 10 mins) The cashier was very rude and not once went over the rental terms. $80+ wasted for something we did not even use, she didn’t even offer any customer service fixes - so we asked for managers information. Today, we came in to speak with manager Leslie and she was just as bad... No apologies, no customer service fixes what so ever, even with her stating “we have been in excellent business for many years!” Her attitude was condescending and was not willing to make our experience better. I would like to add, while we were waiting to speak with her, she had another customer on the phone and wrote their card number on a scrap piece of paper and tossed to the side in a stack of papers, after seeing that, we were even more uncomfortable having left our card information with her. I asked if we could please have our card number destroyed, she declined. It is very sad to me that this business has unfriendly lack of customer service here, as well as a lack of communication and understanding of terms and conditions between customers and employees who rent items. Information like that needs to be clearly stated on paper and/or verbally. I am very disappointed in my experience with this store. I hope no other customer ever...

I often go to Partyland, weather it be decoratios for a birthday party, balloon boques or any decor occasion. They are always so helpful and friendly. I walked into this business on 1/1/2021, it was my mom's birthday and she was coming home on hospice. I was falling apart, but at the same time trying to make my mom's room beautiful for her. I left my wallet at home only withdrew from the back what I thought I would need. Ended up with little money and still needing birthday decorations, having about 20 minutes left, I ran into Partyland grabbed some stuff only to realize I was way short,. The frustration got to me, who I think is the owner saw how upset I was and made a boque of balloons and acknowledged me being seen in there often. I went to give her what I had and she said not to worry. I was very thankful and insisted with paying what I had. I will never forget her gesture. I will never give this place any of my money, ever. I showed up at 6:15, yes, 15 minutes before close for a very specific item. I would have been in and out in less than 5 mins. They were locking the doors. The lady said we are closed, I said even though your website and the door states you close at 6:30? She said the manager is right there. So, the manager proceeded to tell me she’s closed because she has to be out of here shortly because “she has kids”. I said, okay, well, can I get this item and I’ll be out before 6:30… she said, well, she just closed down the register. She said I have those items, can you call me in the morning? I said absolutely not.

I’m sorry, but this is an issue. Do not list your business hours as something and not follow them. It’s pretty pathetic. I’m sorry, but “we all have kids we need to get to” and being in and out before you actually are supposed to close wouldn’t harm your kids.
