Good dinner atmosphere, good food, good choice.

Sure, there could ve better places, nevertheless, the quality of the dishes are pretty much ok! The ones often travelling to Thailand might perceive some differences in taste. But wowww, we've been now almost 2 years without travelling, so let's appreciate this place. That's fair! 🤙

Hygiene: 😁 Good

Quality and Menu: 😄 Large choice of Som Tam salad, and other Thai dishes. Portions might be a bit small. Squid was fresh. 🦑🦑🦑 Shell were still full of sand🐚🏝

Price: 😁 Affordable

Service: 😬 Today average, but food was served really fast So could be good for lunch if uou are in a hurry. Noticed twice that the runner didnt know what table the dishes were for. He had to consult 2 waitresses to ask confirmation. I think the kitchen could advise runners/waiters the table number. This will make the dining experience even better 😁

Location & Atmosphere: 😁 It's located in a shopping Mall, so you also have a large choice of other restaurants, café, milk Teas and so on, that you can also enjoy before/after your meal. The black metal deco gives it a modern look, good for evening atmosphere. Not so sure for lunch, might be too dark for a day meal.

Overall, not bad for a franchise, a good value for money with minor adjustments to be made to make it...

TLDR; slowest service I've ever seen, almost an hour and no food. Staff didn't care nor apologize that we decided to cancel and leave.

Went there today for lunch with my sis and nephew. Nobody bothered to came to us to take our orders even when we signaled the waiters/waitresses a couple times. Finally got our order in by getting the attention of the waiter who took the order for the table near us. Waited for 20 minutes just for the drinks to come out. We kept waiting for 20 minutes more and nobody came to update us on our food. We had to keep waving for them and they didn't even come to the table on the first try. We reminded them two times and on the 3rd time, someone we guess more senior came out (didn't look like a manger to us) and said all of our dishes would take at least 5-7 more minutes. My sis decided to cancel the food order and just pay for the drinks and leave. The guy didn't even seem apologetic and say sorry or even try to explain what happened, he just came back to the registry to get the bill. Even so, it took them 10 more minutes to get the bill out for 2 drinks. Sure, there were other guests to serve, but there were still empty tables so it wasn't like the restaurant was packed. The table near us was seated by a large party of 4 adults and 4 or 5 kids, they ordered right before us and there food came out pretty soon.

Đi ăn trưa ở đây với chị mình và cháu mình. Tụi mình ngồi vào bàn khá lâu nhưng không ai ra hỏi nhận order, mặc dù chị mình và mình cũng đã vẫy / kêu các bạn nhân viên. Đến khi có nhân viên lấy order của bàn gần bàn của mình, tụi mình kêu bạn đó thì bạn đó mới qua lấy order của bàn mình. Tụi mình order 2 món nước và 3 món ăn. Đợi 20 phút mới có món nước. Xong tụi mình ngồi đợi tiếp 20 phút nữa vẫn không thấy đồ ăn, trong khi đã nhắc nhân viên 2 lần (vì tính đến thời điểm đó tụi mình đã chờ đến 40 phút kể từ lúc nhận order). Đến lần thứ 3, một bạn mình đoán là senior hơn các bạn nhân viên bình thường ra nói với bàn mình là tất cả các món ăn của tụi mình đều phải chờ thêm 5-7 phút nữa. Lúc đó là khoảng 1h40 chiều, cháu mình thì đói, nên chị mình quyết định hủy order và thanh toán tiền nước để đi quán khác ăn. Bạn nhân viên đó không nói gì hết, không giải thích vì sao món ra chậm, cũng không xin lỗi mà quay đi đến quầy tính tiền để lấy bill. Mình với cháu mình ra ngoài chờ trước mà phải thêm 10-15 phút sau mới có bill để chị mình thanh toán cho 2 món nước. Bàn gần mình có 4 người lớn và khoảng 4-5 bé nhỏ nhưng đồ ăn ra liên tục. Lúc đó cũng có khách trong nhà hàng nhưng không phải là quá đông vì vẫn còn bàn trống nên mình không hiểu nổi tại sao nhà hàng lại để khách chờ lâu như vậy mà không một lời giải thích hay xin lỗi. Thái độ của các bạn nhân viên cũng kì lạ, thấy khách hủy order mà...

Save yourself the trouble of visiting other Thai outlets in TD and just come here for Thai food. I am idiot first, wiser tomorrow.

I come here for Thai after having disappointing Thai food last night in a Google 4.7 star rated thai restaurant in Thao Dien, kwayteow . It's a Thai run family restaurant that costs an arm and leg. It must be justifying its pricing existence operating out in TD. Thao Dien eg a plate of rice with 4 small chunks of pork meat wants to charge vnd 99,000 as a plate of braised Thai pork leg rice. Makes me wonder if these food operators in TD think people who live here are idiots who haven't seen nor tasted a plate of Thai pork leg rice ka?

Luckily, Som Tum Thai gives back hope of pleasant thai ambience with aircond, delicious food, justifiable price in a shopping mall, guaranteed clean operator. Service is prompt and on point.
