So we just signed a lease on a place near here and were starving. We decided to try it out after finding the pizza place across the street isnt opened on weekends. The staff, although very nice, was under staffed and in over their heads. We sat at the bar and were greeted promptly, ordered beer, got our menus, and then were forgotten about. Granted it got pretty busy, but we were passed by numerous times. I finally flagged down a new bar tender and got our order placed.....two appetizers and a burger to split. She asked if we wanted it all out at once, or if we wanted the appetizers first. We said apps first since we were starving. Also ordered the burger medium well, my girlfriend doesnt like red in her burger (see picture). The bartender brings one of the appetizers and saus she doesnt know what happened, but the burger was ready too, but our other app wasn't ready. Since we were starving said no big deal, just bring it all out. As you can see in the pic, the burger was under cooked. Our boneless wings were a chicken breast chopped in cubes. Now you know what they say about not judging a book by its cover...... this food was awesome. Dispite the look of the "wings"....they were great. The Cherry Habanero is one of the best wing sauces I've ever had. And the burger, although under cooked was delicious. The blue cheese and demi glaze were quite the paring. So all in all, after the delayed order, the bartender breaking the blade off the knife, everything turned out great. We will definitely try it again.

I have walked by this place many times and have always wanted to try it. I finally came by here for dinner with some friends one night. It was after 6pm, so street parking was free downtown. The restaurant wasn't too busy at the time. It has an incredible ambiance, something that I noted the many times I walked by. We were invited to sit wherever we wanted when we came in. I chose a table right in front of the TV, which happened to have a Portland Trail Blazers game on so I can watch my hometown team. We had just missed happy hour, which ended at 7 according to the waitress, although I am not quite sure what their happy hour deals are. I ended up ordering the Border Burger and a Mojito. The service was great and the food did not take long to come. The burger came with waffle fries and ketchup, and I asked for some ranch on the side. The burger was solid, with generous guacamole and arrachera steak on top of the patty. The guacamole added a nice creamy texture to the burger and the arrachera added an extra savory component. It also had arugula in it, which is a plus for me. As for the Mojito, it was more on the sweet side and incredibly refreshing. My family is coming to town next week and I may take them here if we have time after I show them some of the more traditional El Paso restaurants. All in all, a good experience. It can get a bit pricey for burgers depending on what you order, though. But my burger was very solid, I loved the great ambiance, and the service was great.

Just a few days ago, 24SEP2022, my much better half and I were attending another fantastic El Paso Symphony with two good library friends, M.H. & A. This was also the first time we agreed to carpool from their home on the near-West side. Our intent was to begin this excellent evening with an excellent meal here at this eatery. Actually, because this cursed COVID is still killing ~400 people/day in the USA, we got our food “to go”. Not knowing any specific dish, A. highly recommended the shrimp taco, which was A-OK with me because I am a “shrimpaholic”. After obtaining our take out, we enjoyed our mask-free meals in the lovely San Jacinto Plaza. I was amazed at the quality & quantity of the delicious/grilled to moist perfection medium sized shrimp. And, yes, there were some corn or flour tortillas/sour cream/snappy salsa as well, but the main feature was absolutely dominant/tasty/worth every dollar! This eatery/shrimp tacos certainly had my coveted “¡Wheel of Approval!” Fast forward a few days to today, Tuesday, 27SEP2022, and I was back downtown carrying out spousal obligations, but I was really looking forward to another amazing Shrimp taco from this amazing eatery. Arriving there about (12:30), the server/host/waitstaff was again just as efficient as before, even filling my now-empty Pilot coffee mug with chipped ice. Soon enough, a plastic take-away bag arrived with a recycled cardboard cuboid filled with steaming gastronomical satisfaction, and I was Gimpwalking my way back the county courthouse parking garage for a feast. Once back inside the (motor)vehicle cocoon, I carefully emptied the sour cream & salsa cups onto the gooey food, salivating with the anticipation. I attacked it with the plastic fork and sawed the smothered flour tortilla into bite size portions. This was going to be great! I forked a mouthful between my lips and, wait, where are all the shrimp? There were some in unrecognizable form of being extremely overcooked mush, kind of close to “wet bread”. It definitely was nothing like what I had enjoyed before—no whole grilled shrimp dominating the dish, just bits and pieces. It was as if these were the last leftovers from the box of healthy shrimps; I certainly don’t mind licking my plate clean, but if it’s going to be remnants, at least use from a new box, too. Everything else was quite alright, especially the ice. But the main course—SHRIMP tacos—was sorely disappointing, and definitely does NOT get any praise from me! SO, it’s now 50-50. It seems obvious that I must return at some point to learn if the wonderful Shrimp taco on the 24th the truth, or is the dreadful Shrimp taco on the 27th is the truth. Only time will tell, and it may be next month prior to another El Paso Symphony (Harry Potter) concert!

I went for lunch on a Friday with a friend as we work around the area and when I sat down at 12:06 I waited for them to come take my drink order it took them about ten minutes to come around and do that. As soon as they took our drink order the person attending us scurried away and when she came back she finally took our order. I ordered a chicken salad and my friend ordered a chicken sandwich, at 12:51 we received our food. At that point we just ordered a to go box and had her take our check. It was bizarre since it wasn’t packed. At this point I’m back at my office and I start eating the salad which was just lettuce, shredded cheese, and a crispy buffalo chicken breast a third into that salad I start feeling some seriously gritty/crunchy stuff and it turns out they didn’t wash the salad at all. I thought I’m sure it’s not all sandy and gritty in addition to that I then bumped into a little lunch friend and at that point the salad was inedible to me. This was the worst experience ever and I normally don’t take to writing reviews but this was a disappointment to me for few extra dollars you’ll have some seriously delicious salads at Park Tavern just around the corner. I hope the rest of their more elaborate dishes are made with a little more care and attention….

We were in the downtown at the plaza enjoying the lights on Christmas evening. Most restaurants were closed or had stopped serving food around 10pm. We saw this place and went in. They told us they're open till 11pm so that was great! Yelp reviews were awesome too. The waiter was very nice went over the popular items in the menu, which matched what we saw on Yelp, he brought our drink and gave us more time to explore the menu. We got the border burger which is a 6oz burger topped with arrachera steak, guacamole, habanero Monterey cheese and spicy caramelized onions. We asked if we can share and unlike other places that just bring you another plate, they actually cut the burger in two, split the fries and toppings and actually served us two well presented plates. They even put the caramelized onions on the side as my friend doesn't not like spicy food. We also took the recommendation from a fellow yelper and tried their cherry habanero chicken wings and the sauce was amazing and not too spicy. The restaurant is large, clean and also has a jukebox where you can select some music to play for a dollar. I recommend this place and I want to go back to try some of their other specialty burgers, West Texas would my next.

It was decided that none of us had ever had such bad service anywhere. I was disappointed and embarrassed because I suggested Rockstar Burgers to my group. None of us had ever been. I made a reservation to alert them of our group. Our group was heading to a show at 7:30 pm, as were most of the customers last night. We ordered food at 5:30 and did not get food until 7:00 pm! And it was cold. My friends who came at 6:00, barely got their food at 7:25 pm!! I am attaching a picture of the $15 brisket tacos that my friend finally got and asked to be put in a to go box. There were baskets and baskets of food lining the warming shelf. The staff was obviously overwhelmed, which we understood, many of us have been servers, but there was no sense of urgency, no apology, no offer to comp anything, no anything! Our waiter was the bartender, and when we went to cash out he said he "couldn't split our tab", he could only split it evenly by the 14 people. Later, he admitted he could have, but it would take longer. Afterwards, we surmised that it was left as one bill so they could tack on the gratuity. That's right, he got almost $50 gratuity even though we were all late to our show and those of us who ate, ate cold food.
