Up on the hill in Berat, near the castle, this beautiful spot is a real treasure. We came in seeking shelter from a storm and were met with a warm, heartfelt welcome. The view is simply breathtaking – you can see the whole city and the surrounding mountains. The young bartender’s kindness and openness deserve special mention: we ended up having a long and fascinating conversation about the secrets of raki making, the local culture, and even the weather. We from The Netherlands had a quick small lunch during our visit of the old city Berat. The owner was almost sweating because of many customers and less staff but kept friendly. We had a beautiful view. Toilet also was clean. A lovely old town, but take care!! The pavement is very slippery.
