Picture this, it was a hot day and a man and a girl enter an ice cream shop for the first time to order ice cream to take to their family. The man had heard of the place from Augustina at DreamingSpanish who raved about it.
It is a bit busy with lots of slumped over Rappi delivery people in the chairs waiting. There is one person at the register and no one at the ice cream counter.
The man asks (in sufficient Spanish) if the chocolate is the only vegan option (it is) and asks for that. The girl (native speaker) asks some questions. The woman yells at them both to pay for the chocolate and then order at the counter (where no one is working). The man and child made other mistakes (the proper size to order for takeout) due to their unfamiliarity with the establishment.
It's sad the ice cream was good and it's close but we probably won't be back.
I understand they are busy and that management is at fault for not adapting to Rappi. However, Eli, I feel there ought to be an unbreakable commandment when working at ice cream shops: Don't yell at children.

Read moreFantastic! The owner must have had a life-changing experience through ice cream at a young age, or something, because he's clearly dedicated his life to pushing the boundaries of frozen deserts ever since.
Be assured, they have all the standard flavors, and they even have different stuff like mango, passion fruit (maracuya), and even pear. But don't shy away from being adventurous. I tried the squash, carrot, and avocado and they were surprisingly good. And I never thought I'd say this but the blue cheese ice cream was fantastic. Next visit I'll try the avocado & wasabi or maybe the gin & tonic flavors...we'll see how...
Read moreThis ice cream bar is awesome. When we lived nearby it took a lot of willpower to resist going in daily! The staff couldn't be more friendly and were amazingly patient while we tried to decide what to have. The boozy cocktail ice creams were always my favourite, especially the mint julep and the espresso martini, which if you are an affogato fan is literally heaven! The design of the bar is very cool, everything about it is well thought out. If this was on a busier street it would be constantly full - luckily for the ones that know it's tucked away in Palermo Hollywood you won't have to wait in a long line for your...
