One Saturday I went to this place with a friend to have 1 beer before we go somewhere else. I asked if we can just get a beer without seating around a table, but I was told they only do table service. I said we donāt like tables, and we left. Next Wednesday I came to this place again, it was hosting Mundo Lingo and I like these events. I asked the same guy if tables are mandatory and it somehow made the guy offended. I ordered ā3 porterā but he probably heard ā3 waterā and then we went through a drama when he needed to cancel water and proceed with porter. Week later, yesterday, I was there again, I ordered porter from a girl waitress and everything went great. During my next order the guy was available first and I said ā1 porterā and nothing else. He heard āblondeā and got offended out of nothing when I said it wasnāt what I ordered. He banned me from buying anything from him. I got my porter from a girl next to the guy with 0 drama. I like the place, but this drama is not what I want at a bar. I donāt like tables at a bar, if itās mandatory Iām leaving, if itās not Iām staying. What is so offensive about asking if itās mandatory? Please ask the guy if tables are mandatory when you go there. Maybe after answering the question many times he will get rid of that girly habit of getting offended...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBaum is one of Palermo's treasures with its vibrant and energetic ambiance. A great place to drink some exciting beers you haven't tried before and to enjoy some tasty looking food. From what I've seen on the plates you'll be satisfied beyond doubt. This bar is perfect for if you want to have some drinks, want to have dinner or do both!
The music was great, the decor and setting of the bar makes for a warm and welcoming environment. I really recommend the Arenga beer, I think it's brewed by Baum themselves? Anyways, it's a great beer. Smooth, citrussy and very tasty.
The host was very attentive and spoke fluent English. The staff was very friendly and quick, despite it being a busy evening. We were informed about a recurring event on Wednesday's where foreigners are welcomed to mingle and get to know people. It was very kind and appreciated, I'll definitely be coming back here to try the food!
A great option and highly recommend checking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBaum Catrina is a Mexican bar with craft beer. The food here is like in Mexico ā absolutely delicious. Portions are huge, so itās worth sharing with someone or asking to take leftovers home. The staff is super friendly and helpful, giving great recommendations on food, drinks, and food pairing. We had pork tacos with guacamole and spicy sauce, as well as a beef burrito with cheese, guacamole, and fried potatoes. From the beers, we tried the Blonde with a malty, sweet-bitter aftertaste and the Gladstone Stout with vanilla-chocolate notes and a dry whiskey finish. Weāll be back to try the Porter Brownie dessert they recommended, but the portions were so big and tasty that we didnāt have room for...
