I don't normally write reviews but after reading ones that said they didn't enjoy the meal, service or show I just had to write this. We went to an evening version of the Tango and Dinner show a family of 4. My husband was a bit indifferent about going to a Tango show, but half way through the show after being served as many red wines as you would like to drink and enjoying a fabulous steak dinner he turned and said" Best thing we have done on this part of the trip". It was wonderful. We were picked up from our hotel, then dropped off at the venue, where the driver told us his name and what number bus were, what time he would be waiting for us after the show. Really important information to have because after the show there were people and buses everywhere. We were shown to our seats and a very attentive waiter introduced himself and poured us drinks. The meal was great and huge serves, plenty of wine, water and soft drinks and not once did we have to ask for a refill, even during the show. The show was amazing with very professional and expert dancers and singer, costumes were great and the musicians were excellent and worked really hard during the whole show. We totally enjoyed every part of the whole evening and even the ride back to our Hotel. Thanks to everyone who made the evening...
Read moreWe went as part of a package and having read the reviews thought we were in for a treat. We can’t say it was ‘bad’ per se, but we would not recommend it. For a start the hotel pick up was late, and when we arrived most people were finishing their meals, and they virtually threw the food at us so the show would start on time. The gravalax starter was very poor, but the mains were quite good. My partner had the steak which was undercooked, as was pretty much everyone else’s on our table (rushing again?). I had the pork which was very good. Both sets of potatoes were plain and dry. In fairness the dolce de luche crème brûlée was excellent, and the best part of the meal. The show was good, but once it was finished they wanted us out, and were back in the minibus inside 2 minutes of the curtain coming down. The whole night from leaving the hotel to being dropped back was less than 3 hours, and to be frank we felt like we’d wasted a night of...
Read moreTango Hotel de Mayo staff (Franco) says: "It's the best tango show in town, best dinner as well." So we booked it, paid $100pp, included pickup/delivery by Diego. Evelyn (reception) seated us on an end table. Macarena & crew graciously served us drinks (Portillo white/malbec, bottled water); dinner: corn soup/salmon tartare; Argentine angus beef steak (big, succulent); and caramel tart/merengue. The two-hour tango show was outstanding: Five young pairs (30s) showed technical excellence and a mature pair (45s) who exuded romantic passion. Music by a powerful-voiced chanteuse and an operatic singer; and a 5-pc band: piano (he played all pieces), accordion (his solo elicited a loud ovation by the crowd of 200), guitar, violin cello and a violinist (her solo was well-applauded). The ensemble's rendition of MJ's Billy Jean was the highlight of...
