El original Gato Dumas from 20 years back is still here and though has lost its cache from that bygone era when he was the end all in Argie cuisine, it retains a patina of old school charm. The old parillas of yore are my fave hangouts when I visit Baires and I forgive them their often dinginess because they hold for me strong memories. The service is not however old school pro waitstaff, as it used to be where they were white collar shirts black ties slick hair and an amazing memory for your groups order . Now it’s a scruffy guy named Carlos who is a tad rude and not service oriented at all. The bife de chorizo had a cut in it so it was a tad dry and loads of gristle. The papa fritas were soaked in old oil and not what I had hoped a crunchy papa frita would be. Nice though rough ambiance, mediocre lunch staff and the lunch food was just ok. I had had dinner here a few nights before and was a much better experience. Step it up Clark’s you have a...

Awful place, by far my worst dining experience in Buenos Aires! First came the saddest and most tasteless empanada I have seen in my life, with as a bonus an insect trying to extricate itself from the oily surface of the plate.. then came the steak which was so disgusting I returned it to the kitchen, I was then offered the choice of another main course, I thought a spaghetti Bolognese would be the safest option but to my great horror I realised that the meat cooked in the sauce had been grilled and came in unusually big chunks which means they used the leftovers .. Finally the apple crumble did not fare any better as it had absolutely no flavour. Definitely a place to avoid...

We stopped off here for a drink but ordered food. We ordered the apparently best BBQ for two. We were disappointed, maybe bad luck or a bad day but all the meat was hard and very, very fatty. To the extent that it was uneatable. In fact we couldn't distinguish what type of meat we were eating. It was that bad that the chicken was the best, followed by the sausage. It's the worst BBQ ever. verging disgusting. We were also served a salad which was leafs with cheese dropped on the top. We are not picky eaters and we know good food when we eat it and this wasn't good. I'm just being honest and this is was poor. Clarkes can't be shocked by this because they must know this...

We ordered a matambre with Russian salad, and it was good! However, the salad had an excessive amount of mayo. Next, we ordered chicken milanesa with mushrooms and noisette potatoes, and for the second dish, we chose the Patagonic lamb. The chicken was enjoyable, but the lamb tasted as if it had been overheated in the microwave for too long. Additionally, the lamb was supposed to be accompanied by a malbec sauce reduction, but I couldn't detect that flavor on the plate. I didn't like that particular dish. The restaurant had an appealing ambiance, but I'm giving it a three-star rating because of the disappointing lamb. They should work on improving it.
