La Parolaccia Recoleta provided us with an authentic Italian dining experience that we won't soon forget. We stumbled upon this gem after our local tour guide highly recommended it, and he was absolutely spot-on.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the restaurant's beautiful decor, featuring striking red finishes and a soaring ceiling. The ambiance alone set the stage for a memorable meal, and the food certainly lived up to the high expectations.
Our culinary journey began with a selection of freshly baked breads, which were undeniably fresh and delicious. Moving on to the appetizers, we indulged in the breaded cheese and lobster fingers. While they were indeed delightful, I did find the breading a tad excessive for my taste.
However, it was the main courses that truly stole the spotlight. We ordered a variety of dishes, a total of six entrees, giving me the perfect excuse as the designated food writer to sample them all. From the lasagna to the gnocchi, the cacio e Pepe, the ravioli, and the penne rigate, every main dish was a spectacular celebration of Italian flavors.
And let's not forget dessert—the tiramisu was a sweet finale with that signature coffee kick.
In conclusion, La Parolaccia Recoleta is a must-visit for its stunning atmosphere and an authentic Italian experience that leaves your taste buds singing with delight. If you're seeking a memorable dining adventure in Buenos Aires, this restaurant should be at the top...
Read moreAmericans and Canadians stay away from this place. I took a chance, given the other negative reviews, and regret eating here.
My actual server was great, very personable and helpful. The five stars are for him.
The ambiance is typical, nothing to write home about. The food was middle of the road. (I ordered a pasta dish).
The problem was the seating hostess and other staff. They were condescending and contemptuous. I'm doing a six country tour through Central and South America and tonight I dined alone. Apparently this is not acceptable to certain Argentine service staff. Nor is reading a book and relaxing through a meal. (I work in public finance and am enjoying my time away from government on this trip). I don't know if I transgressed some unspoken rules of Argentine etiquette, however, I doubt it since I occupied a quiet corner of the establishment and sat alone.
Needless to say, being treated with contempt and coldness by service staff is not something that will bring me back to spend money at this establishment again, and I would advise other North Americans...
Read moreWe rarely leave reviews but this establishment requires the minimal effort.. the one star is a compliment to the decent decor of this very sizable restaurant. The rest is culinary inadequacy met by the service you would expect at a fast food. We knew we were in trouble when the host insisted to sit us upstairs despite the main room and outside seating have plenty of openings. Instead, had to carry a stroller and infant upstairs, (no help), and then left us there 30 minutes to medidate I guess. We are foodies though, and willing to perhaps overlook the silliness and ineptitude of some of the staff, but the pasta was unacceptable on many levels. Almost 2 hrs later we were able to leave, and laughed about this comically dreadful and certainly memorable meal..if you know anything about Italian food avoid...
