Food 8/10 tasty, well made, good ingredients Service 12/10 warm Ambiance 9/10 chill
Everything was awesome! Service was sooo good (for my tastes) that you WANT to leave a good tip. It’s really better than anything I’ve had for a long time. Food was really tasty and well made. My palate desires more of a pop of flavor though, which is the only reason I didn’t give it a 10. Atmosphere was nice, chill. Well lit and not noisy, it was a nice place to have a good conversation. I take points away because the tables felt too close to each other. We went early, so there wasn’t any trouble, but I imagine it would be a bit more uncomfortable if the place was full. Bathroom was clean, that’s always a plus. I would definitely come back, but I don’t know when. I don’t feel like I want to go back as soon as possible, though I would recommend it. It was 50usd for one appetizer, two mains, a water and a bottle of wine (which was a bit less...
Read moreThis place doesn't have a menu, you order from the blackboard. While pretentious, that would be OK if the food was amazing, but it wasn't up to par.
The rib eye which we ordered medium rare was purple in the middle - still edible, but had a hint of soap flavor? The garnishes were pretty good though. The other dish we ordered was a risotto which was OK.
The best part about our dinner was probably the free bread and butter, and our lemon tart desert which was good.
The service didn't check on us at all after delivering the food until it was time to order a dessert. When they asked us if we would like a coffee, when we inquired about what kind of coffee it was they told us it was "Nespresso". For a pretentious restaurant that only has a chalkboard menu, only serving "Nestle" coffee is laughable.
I don't believe it lives up to the hype, but it wasn't a horrible...
Read moreCozy. Enchantment. Still thinking about the flavours and textures of meals we had here last night. Grouper with ponzu sauce melting in your mouth. Tomatoes that taste like summer. Just the right amount of garlic in the pureéd yams with a few specks lemon. A cut of aged beef that was like beef ought to taste like. And oh the wine, such an embrace. Warm relaxed ambience. Knowledgeable, genuine servers who do not overshadow. Everything exceeds expectation. We’re addicted to LPB, and we keep coming back.
Photo: The blur that is Rodrigo says that he thinks of his awesome restaurant kitchen as like a good ship, always in motion in calm or stormy seas; because both calm and storms are just the ocean doing what it is supposed to do. Meanwhile the ever-discerning Isabella translates that blur into the cogent form we experience,...
